ELIX in cooperation with the Städtische Grundschule Unterstadt (Belgium), "Haus der Märchen und Geschichten e.V." (Germany), "Vester Skerninge Friskole" (Denmark), "Städtische Gemeinschafts- grundschule Düppelstraße" (Germany) and "Øster Åby Friskole" (Denmark) implemented the "The Children of Sheherazade - Die Kinder von Sheherazade - A research and evaluation study of a storytelling project in primary schools".

ELIX is organising a training course on a major issue in modern society - mental health. Both the pandemic and the ongoing war situation have worsened mental health worldwide.

ELIX is pleased to announce the implementation of the Compass Training Course in Athens in September 2024 in collaboration with the Council of Europe - Youth Department, within the framework of the Youth for Democracy program and invites formal and non-formal education teachers, youth worker, social scientists and cultural mediators working with young people to participate in a 5-day training program on human rights and democratic citizenship education in intercultural educational settings.

The ELIX team is delighted to announce the return of the successful "Summer in the City" Volunteering Teams in July 2024! After eight consecutive years of implementation, ELIX, with the support of the Municipality of Acharnes and the 18th Primary School of Acharnes, is back to offer another year of a unique experience to 60 children. This volunteer program is funded by the European Solidarity Corps and will take place at the 18th Primary School of Acharnes.

In cooperation with the Goethe Institute e.V., ELIX and other stakeholders started the "Your Language Counts!" project, dedicated to supporting the integration and educational success of multilingual students with a heritage language background. In an increasingly diverse Europe, multilingualism is the norm, presenting many opportunities but also challenges for students who must navigate a school system dominated by a language different from their heritage languages.

Our project aim is to contribute to students’ overall academic achievements and foster a sense of belonging through knowledge and therefore pride in their languages.
The term "heritage language" (or “home language”) refers to languages spoken at home, reflecting individual histories, traditions, and cultural identities. This includes students with a refugee or migrant background, heritage language speakers, second or third generation heritage language speakers, and any student with a diverse heritage language background.

The campaign for clean coastal areas #EUBeachCleanup started on August 18, 2021 and has already raised the awareness of many Agencies, Municipalities, as well as volunteers. Since then, many similar events have been organized, both in coastal and inland areas around the world.

Come work with us at ELIX multispace, so we can create a safe and creative space, with playing and learning activities, for refugees and immigrants. Among the activities in which you will participate are: - learning Computers and Programming Languages, - Poetry evenings, - Board game tournaments, - Painting workshops, jewelry making, etc.
We are looking for two (2) persons, aged 18 or above, who do NOT reside in Greece.

Come join the ELIX communication team and help promote the organization and its activities. With a daily presence on social media, with the opportunity to create quality audiovisual material, and always with the guidance of the Organization's Communication Officer and the ELIX Staff.  We are looking for one (1) person, aged 18 or above, who does NOT reside in Greece.

You can now participate in courses that have been designed and will be carried out by our pedagogical team. Among the topics that will be taught are the PSEA Policy on the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, as well as the ELIX Code of Ethics. Our educators, social workers and psychologists provide daily coverage and support for the educational needs of the project.

ELIX is re-publishing the Call for participants to the D.E.M.O. (Democracy, Elections, Mentorship, Organizing) project organised by European Alternatives. European Alternatives works to promote democracy, equality and culture beyond the nation-state and imagine, demand and enact alternatives for a viable future.

The “D.E.M.O.” programme aims at encouraging and facilitating the active engagement of a wide network of European citizens through both training & hands-on action, in the context of the upcoming 2024 European Elections. We just launched the open call to identify and select 50 change-makers from at least 8 countries (Austria, Bulgaria, Czechia, Greece, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Sweden and others) to participate in the D.E.M.O. programme. Those selected change-makers will receive the necessary tools to re-imagine democracy in their local communities and to encourage democratic participation.

We, the undersigned, 16 organisations, members of the Child’s Rights Advocacy Network, working to support asylum-seeking and refugee children in Greece, wish to express our concerns about the proposed provisions for unaccompanied and separated children in a newly proposed Immigration Code and call on Greek authorities to reconsider Article 162 of this Code and amend it so that and updated version covers the serious legal gap currently facing unaccompanied children and ensures the rights of all unaccompanied children in practice, including once they have reached adulthood, or will soon reach adulthood, which is currently not the case.

English lessons for students of different levels, the lessons will be adapted to the level of each student. We will focus on speaking skills so our students have the ability to communicate effectively, to interact with other people and to develop skills to adapt to their everyday lives.

Courses take place every Monday and Wednesday, from 16:00 to 17:00 and from 17:00 to 18:00.

Ever wondered what is Stop Motion Animation? Join our lessons and learn basic principles and techniques!

The Stop Motion Animation is an animated filmmaking technique, a sequence of individually photographed images that capture the objects in different positions, afterwards they will be put to play at a fast tempo which creates the illusion of motion. The Stop Motion can be done simple by using a tablet or mobile phone camera.

Stop Motion Animation lessons take place at the p^2 multispace every Tuesday from 16:30 to 17:30.

In collaboration with Evergreen Yoga Studio, ELIX is offering free Yoga Lessons guided by professional instructors. We aim to give the participants a safe space to develop the movement of their bodies, to relax and to devote valuable time to themselves.

You don't need any kind of experience or previous practice, just wear your most comfortable clothes and we are waiting for you at the p^2 multispace area.

Do you fancy knitting and you don’t know how to start. Your grandmother is far and can’t teach you? Come and join the knitting group in our p^2 multispace and you will discover your creativity and new skills.

The "All Children in Education (ACE Project)" Program, created and implemented by ELIX-Conservation Volunteers Greece, successfully continues for a second year with the support and funding of UNICEF and the European Union. The program is implemented in the Homework and Creative Activities Centres (HCACs) of ELIX, which are located in Athens on Patision Street, in the wider area of Western Attica and Facility of Elefsina, in the Facility of Corinth and finally in the wider area of Peloponnese.
