From the 2nd until the 8th of June 2025, ELIX has the pleasure of being the hosting organisation for the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “Artivism in Action” in Kryoneri, Corinthia. In today’s world, pressing issues such as climate change, human rights, and inequality are more urgent than ever. However, misinformation, stereotypes, and cultural differences often hinder meaningful dialogue. At the same time, intercultural exchange is essential for promoting understanding, inclusion, and collective action.
The “Artivism in Action” youth exchange brings these crucial themes together, creating a space where young people can explore the power of art in addressing social challenges, while fostering intercultural learning, creativity, and collaboration for social justice.
What’s in Store?
During the 7-day stay at Elisson Hostel, 25 young participants from Bulgaria, Estonia, Romania, and Ukraine, together with the Greek team, will have the opportunity to get to know each other and engage in: Workshops, Creative activities, Group discussions and Storytelling sessions.
The exchange will bring together young people from diverse cultural backgrounds, encouraging impactful conversations around key social issues and exploring how art can be used as a tool for activism.
Why This Matters
Many young individuals lack access to the resources, training, or platforms needed to express their artistic voices through activism. Moreover, young people are often excluded from decision-making processes and have limited opportunities to participate in local and global dialogues around critical topics.There is a growing need to explore how art and activism intersect—and how this powerful combination can foster meaningful and lasting social change.
What We Aim to Do
The aim of the Youth Exchange is to empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and networks they need to use art as a tool for social transformation.
Participants will:
- Develop a deeper understanding of how artivism (art + activism) can be used to address pressing societal challenges.
- Collaborate with like-minded youth from different cultural backgrounds to co-create artistic projects with social impact.
- Gain practical experience in expressing social messages through art.
- Become more active and engaged members of their communities.
Our Goals
- Raise awareness among young people about the power of art as a tool for activism and social change.
- Create a platform for exchange of experiences, ideas, and creative practices among youth from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Strengthen participants’ capacity to advocate for change through their own artivist projects.
- Build a supportive network of young artivists, mentors, and organizations for future collaborations.
