Citizenship has its roots in the idea of active participation in the local community. The actions in these communities are the ones that make the difference and build an active Europe.
“Can YOUth make it?” will focus on the initiatives taken by local groups and local organisations and will show the effect that the projects have on citizens life in the respective community.
30 participants from Esthonia, Turkey, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy and Greece will meet in Thessaloniki, Greece, forming a Youth Exchange in ideas, thoughts and experiences among partners in local participation and group initiatives.
During the 9 days of the project, the participants will have the opportunity to meet representatives from local youth initiatives and organisations, as well as be an active part of 2 days of active participation in the local community of Thessaloniki, putting in practice the theory of local participation obtained by this programme. Step by step they will be showcased of how they can create their own local group and what can the effect of it be for both themselves and their direct environment.
Through "Can YOUth make it?" we aspire to inspire young people to fight for the best future of their local community which will consequently lead to a better Europe.
