Description of the event:
From the 22 - 23 June 2013 CONCORDIA organised in Versailles a two days long Citizens Action for 28 young people who wished to become active citizens and future leaders of different voluntary projects and actions in France.
Every year CONCORDIA organises different voluntary project around the whole country and works on promoting the active citizenship and volunteering. This Citizens Action was a great stimulus for all the interested citizens who haven't yet, but wish to take part/ and or organise different voluntary projects and actions.
With the help of experienced CONCORDIA staff and active volunteers who have been active in this field since many years the participants embraced new knowledge, methodologies and tools for their future successful projects.
They learned how to organise an successful action from the beginning to the end: from finding the financial means, motivating other citizens to take part in the action, encompass the local communities, solving the conflict in non violent way, team building, evaluation etc.
There were different methodologies used during this seminar, mostly from the non formal learning field, so that the participants would learn as much as possible and immediately adopt the new learned knowledge. All the participants were encouraged to take part in the discussions, of which many were held in smaller discussion groups.
Almost all of the participants took part in voluntary project the same summer after the seminar.
