Description of the event:
Over 25 participants took part in the Citizens Action, in Preston, England organized by the CSV. This Citizens Action prepared them to participate in a local initiative production of two TV shows which will focus on the promotion and awareness raising of Active Citizenship through Volunteering, specifically associated with Education, Youth Unemployment and Homelessness.
During this Citizens Action participants engaged in workshops exploring how different communities, cultures and regions are affected by Homelessness and Youth Unemployment and discovered how as Volunteers and Active Citizens they can help reduce the negative impact these situations have on theirs and others communities.
Participants from European community’s particularly Spanish and Polish engaged in adding an International dimension to the project work.
This was also achieved through the informal delivery and production of Creative Media Products as detailed in the Photographic and Video Evidence attached additionally engaging participants in interviewing each other about their positive experiences as active citizens through volunteering in other areas.
