History for Future, Parco di Montesole

Youth Exchange, Action 3.1 Youth in Action Programme

25/06/2012 - 02/07/2012, Parco di Montesole – Bologna (Italy)

“History for Future” is a youth exchange (Action 3.1) involving 20 participants from four countries: Italy, Iceland, Serbia and Kosovo. The main topic of the exchange was history as a mean to know each other culture and to fight discrimination, using the web radio as a tool of information for the youth.

The aim was to link the past with the future, creating a history line that conceives the present as the ground for a shared future.

The activities involved sharing one’s own history with the others, getting to know the similarities and the differences in every country’s history and culture. Through workshops and interviews the participants discovered more about the other countries, in order to eliminate the barriers and the prejudices between them. The participants also were involved in inter-generational activities, meeting the elderly people of Casalecchio and sharing stories of their own grandparents, also through pictures. The web radio was the instrument to witness this exchange of experiences: the interviews were recorded (during several workshops) and a “live” radio program was organized as final event of the exchange.

All the materials created during the 9 days are uploaded on a web platform where the participants are free to share contents regarding their history and daily life also after the exchange, thus ensuring a follow-up of the experience. (for example, http://blogos.podcastpeople.com/posts/48450)
