13 international volunteers met in the little village Kohlberg in Bavaria in July 2012 to be involved in the life of different local groups through work and free time activities.
The main task was to build a playground for the local kids in cooperation with the "House of the Good Shepherd", a local boarding-school for teenager with difficulties.
Other works were the renovation of the local soccer field and the house of the fire station. In both cases, an afternoon or evening of coming together with the correspondent local group (the soccer team and the voluntary firemen) was organized to create the possibility of exchanging personal, cultural and other experiences between the local groups and the volunteers.
The highlight of the project was the participation at the local festival of the village that took place the last weekend. A stand was created by the volunteers among the local ones to present more information about work camps and to share information and specialties of their countries of origin. Through the three weeks, a lot of activities enabled both, local people and volunteers to experience intercultural life, to exchange ideas and experiences and to share good moments with each other.
