Η ΕΛΙΞ σε συνεργασία με την Études et Chantiers, οργάνωση της Γαλλίας, αναζητά 2 εθελοντές EVS από την Ελλάδα για να συμμετέχουν σε ένα πρόγραμμα Short Term EVS, με τίτλο “European youth involved in the local inheritage” στην Βρετάνη.
Οι θέσεις είναι εξασφαλισμένες και η διάρκεια του προγράμματος είναι από τις 26.06.17 έως τις 25.08.17.
Οι εθελοντές θα έχουν δύο αποστολές. Η βοηθήσουν στην ανακαίνιση της πολιτιστικών μνημείων της Βρετάνης αλλά και στην ανάπτυξη των σχέσεων συνεργασίας με τους ντόπιους.

What is a Short Term EVS?
It is a program for young people aged between 18 and 30, resident in the country of their sending organization. More specifically, it addresses young people with fewer opportunities, that is,
- with disadvantaged backgrounds and fewer opportunities compared to their peers whenever disadvantage limits or prevents participation in transnational activities for reasons such as:
- educational difficulties: young people with learning difficulties; early school-leavers; low qualified adults;
- young people with poor school performance;
- economic obstacles: people with a low standard of living, low income, dependence on social welfare system or homeless; young people in long-term unemployment or poverty; people in debt or with financial problems;
- cultural differences: immigrants or refugees or descendants from immigrant or refugee families;
- people belonging to a national or ethnic minority; people with linguistic adaptation and cultural inclusion difficulties;
- health problems: people with chronic health problems, severe illnesses or psychiatric conditions;
- social obstacles: people facing discrimination because of gender, age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, etc.;
- people with limited social skills or anti-social or risky behaviours; people in a precarious situation;
- (ex-)offenders, (ex-)drug or alcohol abusers; young and/or single parents; orphans;
- geographical obstacles: people from remote or rural areas; people living in small islands or in peripheral regions;
- people from urban problem zones; people from less serviced areas (limited public transport, poor facilities).
What is Etudes et Chantiers ?
Etudes et Chantiers is a non-profit organization which develops environmental and heritage conservation projects. Since the 1960’s, we organize summer camps in Brittany to involve people from foreign countries and give them the opportunity to meet, to be useful, to discover our region, to help the preservation of our heritage and the peace between communities! Since the 80’s we develop social inclusion works, but we are still organizing volunteer camps!
What is this project for?
As always, we think that to develop tolerance between people, the best way is to meet each other. With this project we intend to make young people from foreign countries to meet each other and to meet locals. This project will give the opportunity to young people to propose and develop their own ideas, it shall give them confidence. We use heritage as a medium because it allows to create bridges between cultures, and to develop the sense of community and European citizenship.
When? Who? Where?
This project will take place in two French regions : Brittany and Pays de La Loire. The base place will be Le Mans, but the group will move to the villages of Saint Calais du Désert and Saint Laurent for 3 weeks each. It will involve 15 volunteers aged between 18 and 30, and from 8 countries : Spain, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Poland, Russia, France. The volunteers will arrive in Le Mans on June, 26th and leave on August, 25th. They will have the opportunity to meet 2 other teams of volunteers working on other projects.
What?
The volunteers will have two missions. The enhancement of the local heritage and the development of relations with locals :
1. Water-mill of Cordouen, Saint Calais du Désert, Mayenne, Pays de la Loire:
Location: countryside 
Dates: 3,5 weeks in July (30th June - 27th July)
Accommodation: rural campsite with electricity, showers and dry toilets
Project: Environment and local event preparation
- Cleaning the mill run, and brush clearing operation around the mill
- Preparation of a full day and evening event including nature walk, games tournament, horse and donkey riding, live music, cinema, etc… This event has been running for the 8 last years and is gaining popularity in this countryside! “Les Veillées de Cordouen”
2. Federations of municipalities “Pays de Bégard”, Côtes d’Armor, Brittany
Location: countryside
Dates: 3 weeks in August (2nd August - 23th August)
Accommodation: campsite

How?
An important part of this project is the community life. The volunteers will spend a lot of time together, at work or during their free-time. Each day, two of them will have to prepare the food for everybody. They will have to make compromise, to discover new things and put aside some others. During the work periods they might have to sleep in tents or in a common room. They will have to do physical work outside, share ideas and organize their free time together. They will discover local traditions and local weather! During the time spent in Le Mans, they will have more free time to relax!
Financial conditions
Participants will be provided with pocket money, 5 EUR per day, for their individual expenses. The financial support in form of pocket money for the mobility period has a maximum amount of EUR 295.
Furthermore, they will be provided with accommodation, food or financial compensation.
International travel costs:
Each volunteers will receive a financial contribution to his/her travel costs from Athens to the location of the projects and back. The travel cost is up to 360 EUR for distances 2000-2999 (including the return trip). In case the travel cost is higher the volunteer will cover the difference.
Insurance: The volunteer will receive health insurance, third party liability insurance, as well as general accident insurance via the group insurance of the European Commission (free of charge for the volunteer).

The curriculum vitae, although gives a good idea about the candidate’s previous experiences, won’t be determining, as the hosting organization wants to hear the reason of your application, and to feel your motivation and creativity!
Rather than a letter of motivation or formal interview, they would like that you created a short movie where you talk about yourselves the way you want.
You can be very creative, but you have to answer some questions: Who are you ? Why are you interested in this project ? What do you think about camping, to live in community in a foreign country during two months and to do physical work, do you have previous experiences ? Do you have any ideas to meet local people? What are your hobbies?
