Η ΕΛΙΞ σας προτείνει ένα προγράμματα EVS στην Φρανκφούρτη της Γερμανίας για την υποστήριξη των δράσεων της οργάνωση φιλοξενίας ICJA / ICYE Germany.
Το πρόγραμμα έχει διάρκεια 12 μήνες και ξεκινά στις αρχές Μαρτίου 2017 .

Activities of the project organisation (aims, objectives, actions):
Freiwilligenaustausch weltweit e.V. was founded as a reconciliation program between the USA and Germany in 1949. Today ICJA organizes volunteer exchange programs all over the world and the current management has long- standing experience in working with volunteers and partner organizations from over 40 different countries on all continents. ICJA is an independent, non-profit registered association recognized by the German government. Our aim is to facilitate respectful and open interaction between people from different cultures and backgrounds. We understand our exchange programs as educational offers, which allow people to meet at eye level, to work together and to learn from each other. Anyone who supports the aims of ICJA is invited to become a member and volunteer coworker. The headquarter of ICJA is located in Berlin where currently 30 staff and 3 apprentices and 3 volunteers are working. A very important part of the work is done by voluntary coworkers in regional and local committees all over Germany.
ICJA's main projects and programs focus on peace work, intercultural education and the promotion of active citizenship, global learning and social commitment. ICJA received the QUIFD certificate for »Quality in Voluntary Service« which is based on ten carefully defined quality aspects. ICJA coordinates and carries out a variety of exchange programs for volunteering, like the EFD ( European Voluntary Service), the IJFD (International Youth Voluntary Service), the BFD (Federal Voluntary Service), "weltwärts" (sending and receiving to/from countries in the Global South), volunteer exchange programs within the framework of our umbrella organization, the "ICYE Federation" , the program for volunteers of all ages above 26 (Ü26) and the organization of about 17 workcamps each year in Germany.
Young Activists for Peace and dialogue
SUMMARY
The project “Young Activists for Peace and dialogue” will enable personal encounters between young people with various religious backgrounds, from different corners of EU and neighboring partner countries in the Mediterranean and Eastern Europe Caucasus region. The aim is to make young people aware of the importance of a peaceful dialogue between individuals, groups and society who have different faith and practice different religions or religiously motivated traditions. Given the growing islamophobia, the high potential of religiously justified violence and increasing hatred towards immigrants from Muslim countries in many Western European Countries there is a need to make young people and youth workers aware of the dynamics of this conflict and enable them to overcome enemy stereotypes.
This will be done by providing a training based on the concept “youth as agents of peace” which includes methods such as “conflict mapping” dealing with the dynamics of religiously justified conflicts on interpersonal, group and society level. Participants will learn about concepts of nonviolent conflict resolution and peacebuilding and will gain competences for their own activities as youth workers/leaders in working with minorities and excluded groups.

Description of the community the project is situated in Frankfurt District Bornheim ICJA office for workcamps.
Description of the tasks of the volunteer in the project:
There are lot of different tasks to do, main focus will be the support of the Erasmus+ Project Young Activists for Peace and dialogue”. Volunteer will also support the placement of international volunteers in ICJA workcamps in Germany hosting. Tasks for the volunteer will be identified together with local tutor according the development of the project. In general there are following fields of work
- getting to know general working routine in the office
- administrative work in placement of international volunteers
- communication with international partners
- participating in national seminars and international activities of the project
- pedagogical and technical support in seminars and workcamps
- documentation of the project (website, social media, print, fotos)
- learn how to use CMS system typo 3 to maintain the website
- support in financial administration
- work in databases and webtools
Required skills and interests of the volunteer:
- strong motivation to work in the project,
- able to work independent and in a team
- strong interest in the topic, and the field of non formal learning
- basic knowledge about intercultural communication, inclusion, work against racism, international youth work, …
- basic knowledge of German language is necessary
- reliability and punctuality
Working hours, working time:
30-35 hours/week, sometimes on weekends
Training and support for the volunteer:
There is a mentor who is responsible for answering any questions and supervising the work of the volunteer, and who speaks English.
The project has much experience with German volunteers and has been a host project for the European Voluntary Service for several years now.
Pocket Money: The volunteer will receive 110 Euro/month as pocket money (paid by ICJA).
Public Transport: The volunteer will be reimbursed for the costs of a monthly public transport ticket (reduced fee) (paid by ICJA)
Description of the accommodation: Shared accommodation (Wohngemeinschaft)
How will the food arrangement be?
Depending on the type of accommodation the volunteer will receive provisions from the project.
International travel costs:
The volunteer will receive a financial contribution to his/her travel costs from his/her place of origin to Germany and back. The amount depends on the distance travelled. For travel distances between 500 km and 1999 km: 275 Euro including the return trip.
Insurance:
The volunteer will receive health insurance, third party liability insurance as well as general accident insurance via the group insurance of the European Commission (free of charge for the volunteer).
