Η ΕΛΙΞ σας προτείνει ένα πρόγραμμα EVS μεγάλης διάρκειας, που συντονίζει η οργάνωση Arcs (Arci Culture Solidali) στην Ιταλία, από τον Σεπτέμβριο 2018 μέχρι τον Αύγουστο 2019.
Το πρόγραμμα αποτελεί μέρος του τριετούς πρότζεκτ “Youthquake”, το οποίο αποσκοπεί στην προώθηση της αλληλεγγύης, του εθελοντισμού και της ενεργής συμμετοχής του πολίτη μέσω της αποστολής και φιλοξενίας συμμετεχόντων EVS σε ορισμένες περιοχές της κεντρικής Ιταλίας, που επλήγησαν από σεισμό το καλοκαίρι του 2016, προκειμένου να προωθηθεί, να διατηρηθεί και να ενεργοποιηθεί η ανασυγκρότηση της κοινωνικοοικονομικής διάρθρωσης και της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς των εμπλεκομένων κοινοτήτων.
(the project is aimed at promoting solidarity, volunteering and active citizenship by sending and hosting EVS participants in some of the areas of central Italy hit by earthquake in summer 2016, in order to promote, sustain and activate the reconstruction of the socio-economic structure and of the cultural heritage of the communities involved.)
Στο συγκεκριμένο πρόγραμμα οι εθελοντές θα συμμετέχουν σε διαφορετικές δράσεις διατήρησης και προώθησης της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς, σε συνεργασία με ένα οικολογικό μουσείο και με άλλους πολιτιστικούς οργανισμούς στην όμορφη Villa Ficana, ένα παλιό “borgo” της πόλης Macerata στην κεντρική Ιταλία, 50 χλμ. από την Ancona.

The “YOUTHQUAKE” project
What is Youthquake?
Youthquake wants to bring a “quake” of new energies, competencies and enthusiasm to the area of central Italy hit by an earthquake in summer 2016. Operating in a completely safe environment, young European volunteers will work within local community to help rebuild the rich historical and artistic heritage of Lazio, Abruzzo, Marche and Umbria regions. They will contribute to restore local, social, and cultural infrastructures, while providing a sense of security and community: a way for the affected population to start designing its future again.
What will you be doing?
Several hosting organisations are participating in the project, hence activities will be various and diverse: psycho-social and recreational activities for the most fragile categories (children, elderly, migrants, etc.); protection and valorisation of material and immaterial heritage, such as environment, manufacturing traditions, etc; promotion of tourism and natural areas; supporting the management of participative processes for the creation of new places of aggregation.
What’s in it for you?
Personal support
- Linguistic support: you will be enrolled in an on-line language course on the European OLS platform, in order to improve your skills in the Italian language and to facilitate exchange with local population.
- YouthPass: with the help of your organisation you will learn about this tool until you will have completed it, by the end of your mobility period.
- Training: you will attend pre-departure, arrival and mid-term trainings from both sending and hosting organisation, as well as from the Erasmus+ National Agency (Agenzia Nazionale Giovani.)
- Personal support: you will be followed by a Tutor and a Mentor during the whole length of your experience.
- Insurance: you will be provided with a free insurance under the EVS scheme.
Financial support
- 4,00 € pocket money per day of mobility, given at the beginning of each month.
- 5,66 € food allowance per day of mobility, given at the beginning of each month.
- Max. 25 € for transportation facilities per month – if necessary – during the working time of the volunteer; the travel document shall be reimbursed at the end of the month.
- Max. 275 € return flight
Learning outcomes
- Organisational skills: by managing your life and finances abroad while participating in the foreseen activities
- Interpersonal, multicultural and communication skills: by communicating with different stakeholders (institutions, local population, sending, hosting and other organisations, EVS colleagues.) You will be dealing with people from different cultures and backgrounds, as well as with people variously affected by a natural disaster.
- Technical skills: knowledge on environmental disaster prevention, community engagement/building, non-formal education.
- Project specific skills: these can involve promotion of local produces and cultural heritage, tourism, resilience building, working with elders/children/youth/disabled, environmental protection, events organisation.
- ICT and digital communication: photography and video making/editing, use of blogs and social networks for social communication and advocacy campaigns.
What’s expected from you?
- Being responsible of self-monitoring your own learning process.
- Being responsible to act in a safe manner during the service and to avoid situations of danger.
- Taking part in the pre-departure training in your sending country; and in the on-arrival and mid-term trainings in Italy - the former provided by the hosting organization and the latter by the National Italian Agency.
- Taking part in the evaluation sessions in your sending country and in Italy.
- Promptly informing coordinating, hosting and sending organisation of any problems related to your service.
- Assuming a positive attitude towards the activities and the context.
- Actively supporting the visibility and dissemination of the project.
- Being proactive in carrying out the tasks and activities of the project.
- Being responsible to keep and provide sending and receiving Organisation with, all documentation attesting travels and payments during the service.
What do you need in order to participate?
Generally, you won’t need specific competencies and knowledge in order to participate, unless otherwise specified. You will be selected basing on your genuine interest in volunteering in a post-earthquake affected area; your attitude; your willingness to interact with people of different ages; potentially in a marginalized or otherwise difficult situation (from a psychological, economic, and social point of view). Knowledge of Italian is not compulsory but will be positively evaluated.

Activities and preferred competencies:
- Making and translating informational flyers and tourist material on the Ficana Ecomuseo, on the village and building techniques in one’s own language.
- Supporting the management of a biological vegetable garden inside the urban park of Sasso d'Italia.
- Developing activities in the Officina Artistica (Artistic Workshop) in the Borgo where volunteers will create crafted and artisanal works useful to the project.
- Maintaining green and urban areas in Borgo Ficana.
- Supporting the staff in organizing workshops on traditional building techniques by using “terra cruda” and straw and in cultural events organized in the Borgo, in order to promote it.
- Organizing workshops for children and/or disabled in the Ecomuseo educational space. Making a “Learning Kit” for children and families visits, supported by the tutor.
- Organization and management of language conversation evenings or afternoons with and for local population. The activity will be prepared and managed by volunteers, with the support of the tutor.
- Intensive Italian language course (additional to the on-line one)
In the final phase (from the 7thmonth on) volunteers will have the chance to design and develop an activity according to their interest and skills. Having learnt the local language, met many people and being familiar with the association and the town, volunteers will be free to promote a specific initiative in the Ecomuseo educational space. They will so integrate in the project their ideas, creativity and experience.
