Πρόταση για EVS στην Αλγερία με την ΕΛΙΞ

Η ΕΛΙΞ σε συνεργασία με την μην κυβερνητική οργάνωση Asfai της Ιταλίας έχει εξασφαλίσει και σας προτείνει ένα πρόγραμμα EVS που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην Αλγερία για την στήριξη των δράσεων της οργάνωσης Association Ouled Tigditt της Αλγερίας. Το πρόγραμμα αφορά νέους ηλικίας 18 με 30 χρονών.

 

Το πρόγραμμα θα ξεκινήσει στις 3 Μαρτίου 2014 και θα ολοκληρωθεί στις 30 Νοεμβρίου 2014 - διάρκειας 9 μηνών. Οι ενδιαφερόμενοι πρέπει να έχουν διαβατήριο που να είναι σε ισχύ για όλη την διάρκεια του προγράμματος και να κάνουν αίτηση στην ΕΛΙΞ μέχρι τις 12 Δεκεμβρίου (δείτε στο τέλος του άρθρου).

THE ORGANIZATION - Association Ouled Tigditt (Algeria):
Born in September 1999 in the poorest neighborhood of Mostaganem, its goal is to encourage young women and men by training and entertainment activities, as local development engine.

 

The association works with children through socio cultural activities and such as plays and training workshops to reinforce values ​​of solidarity, cooperation, respect and citizenship among children. There is also a social action group of young women and men, a space where they can think and reflect on their concerns and also where they can organize and perform activities such as “films forums”, thematic talks, group dynamics, production of social`s short films and environmental awareness.

 

Moreover, three times a year the association carries out the reception of Responsible Tourism Trips from Spain resulting an enriched intercultural coexistence for both, the Algerians and the Spanish young people.

Finally, the Association Ouled Tigditt networks with other associations for general development themes of Mostaganem city.

 

The objectives:
1- The social inclusion of the district youth.
2- The promotion of district women and young girls.
3- The consolidation and promotion of volunteer work.

 

The ways:
1 - Training.
2 - Creating diverse workshops of cultural, educational and exchange activities.
3 - The associative interaction (working in a network).
4 - Voluntary work.

 

Workshops:
The Association organizes its activities in workshops
1 - Sociocultural animation.
2 - Raise awareness.
3 - “Women group”.
4 - Theater and music for children.
5 - Road-safety education for children.
6 - Audiovisual and social cinema.

 

Members: Total memberships: 52 people (34 young boys and 18 young girls)

 

ROLE AND TASKS OF THE VOLUNTEER:
The role of the volunteer in Ouled Tigditt will be to support the groups of volunteers in implementing daily tasks.

 

The tasks he/she is expected to undertake are:
- Take part in meetings in order to plan fortnightly activities.
- Prepare materials and dynamics for trainings, activities and workshops.
- Supporting teachers during workshops.
- Reception and assistance of Ouled Tigditt’s workshop’s users (i.r. issuing user card for
- attending courses, giving information, etc.).
- Collaborate to organize and run local community development projects and sociocultural activities.
- Take part to the preparation and logistics of Responsible Tourism travels.

 

The content of the activities may vary if requested by organization’s needs.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
During the voluntary service, volunteer will acquire new knowledge about local culture and language. By working in Ouled Tigditt, volunteer will learn about concepts like social participation, civil society, work in network, and will acquire practical tools to put them into practice through projects aiming at producing positive changes in the society.

 

He/she will be able to work and behave in an Algerian context and interact with people coming from different personal backgrounds. They will also learn a new reality and a different way of live, of organize citizen prioritys, of perfom social relationships, of general organisation, etc

Language skills: Volunteer will learn or improve French or even Arabic language competence.

 

Foreign volunteer will also develop a positive and open attitude towards algerian culture and society by understanding their history, their day-to-day life and their worries.

 

PRACTICAL ARRANGEMENTS: 
WORKING HOURS: 5 hours per day (2 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon)
DAYS OFF: Saturday and Sunday
HOLIDAYS: 10 days Christmas, 10 days Easter and 20 days Summer.

 

Board and Lodging
Volunteer will be living in shared flat and will be given a food allowance.

 

Transportation:
Budget : Public transport tickets (taxi and bus) =  30€ per month

 

Travel cost & pocket money
The travel costs (Greece-Algeria-Greece) are reimbursed at the rate of 90% according to the Youth in Action programme
Pocket money: Volunteer will receive each month the sum of 85 Euros

 

Language opportunity (Language Course): Volunteers will get a course in French language.
