Respect for Human Rights should Prevail over Use of Force. Following yesterday's fire in Moria, on Lesvos, which destroyed the Reception and Identification Centre, 31 civil society organizations call on the Greek Government to immediately provide assistance to people who lost their shelter.

Athens, 4 September 2020: The first COVID-19 case was identified earlier last week in Moria, spiraling concerns about the health and safety of the overcrowded Reception Center’s population. According to media reportsⁱ, the 40-year old refugee left Lesvos on 17 July, after being requested to exit the Center, and as per his right to move went to Athens.

This collection of poems was created by children, refugees and migrants, as part of the project "Learning for Integration: Quality learning and non-formal education for refugees and migrants, children and adults, in Greece (LIP)", implemented by ELIX with the support of UNICEF, the International Organization of Migration and the European Commission.

World Refugee Day today and ELIX honors the millions of people that have been displaced by the home countries looking for a better future.

ELIX is moving to the digital age, responding to both the extraordinary conditions created by the COVID-19 pandemic crisis and the new data created by the use of technology in the field of education in recent years.

For these reasons, ELIX is uploading to a hub the podcasts prepared -and still do- by our team of trainers, in the context of the distant, online learning that we have been gradually include in our educational program "Learning for Integration Project", implemented with the support of UNICEF since 2017. The Director of ELIX, Judith Wunderlich-Antoniou, together with the training coordinator Eirini Pathiaki and the teacher of the organization, Alexandra Kamaretsou, visited Beirut, participating in a mission of UNICEF Greece to Lebanon, from 25 to 28 June 2019.

A toolkit by the European Commission has included the ELIX Project, "Learning for Integration: Quality Learning and Non-formal Education for Children, Refugees and Migrants in Greece" project as a good practice in the field of Youth Work for Refugee and Migrant Integration.

ELIX begun the implementation of "The Learning for Integration Project: Quality Learning and Non-Formal Education for Refugee and Migrant Children and Adults in Greece" in March 2019 with the support of UNICEF,International Organization for Migration (IOM) and DG Migration and Home Affairs of EC (DG HOME).

ELIX joined the Register of Greek and Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) which operate in matters of international protection, immigration and social integration within the Greek Territory..
