Λίγα λόγια για το πρόγραμμα:
Concordia is an organization of non-formal education which promotes intercultural exchanges. Our traditional activity is the international work camps, and one of its main goals is to allow participants to get open-minded and develop non-formal skills as autonomy and self-confidence, by meeting and living during few weeks with people from all over the world with different cultural and social background.
During the training course, the group have to organize himself for the food, they have a budget they can use to buy ingredients then cook together. But sometimes, trouble happened, it could be a gender matter like sharing the tasks, or intercultural misunderstanding linked to ritual, religion or habits.
As non formal education, we usually talk about sustainable consumption, feeding, but disconnected from the final application: the meal. We think it could be great to create activities which strengthen the link from the topic to the real, by developing more tools that can be used directly to meal time.
We hope this training will help group leaders to develop activities and animations linked to alimentation in a group. Learning how to do "everyday's collectives activities", an active way to learn about different topics like environment, intercultural, sustainable consumption... And how to having fun doing it !
Objectives of the project:
Share and Create tools linked to food in aim to:
- Transform the mealtime in a fun and friendly time;
- Encourage teambuilding;
- Raise environmental and waste awareness;
- Open up to cultural differences;
- Allow youth workers to experiment new techniques, questioning their practices and learn how to adapt to different publics;
- Promote environmental awareness in our partners associations and future projects ;
- Strengthen skills, capacity and knowledge of youth workers.
Feeding is an universal basic need. Moreover it is linked to social and cultural behaviors (type of food, place and way to eat, alone or shared etc.). It has a big correlation with economy (production / consumption etc.) and it can be the reflect of our link to nature.
We found it obvious to use this action that we have every day, several times, as a way to educate and promote an healthy way of life, better cultural understanding, and may be active citizenship!
We think that we can share and create a lot of tools of education around a simple meal.
The first part of the training will be about theoretical learning and reflection about environment, economy, sustainable consumption group dynamic and cultural differences.
In the second hand it will be an collective reflection based on experience sharing, a moment where people can talk about what they lived, how they do, what they feel.
Finally, a practice of creating animation tools will be provided. In small groups, participants will share their practices, teaching methods and create a tool kit.
There will be lot of different activities that we have already planed, this is a non exhaustive list:
- Theorical reflexions on sustainable consumption, interculturality and raising awareness methods;
- Creation of awareness tools and implementation on children and youngsters
- Tour of innovative projects;
- Exchange time on good practices and methodologies of participants and their organizations.
- Improvement of professional practices in the field of environmental and intercultural awareness for associations target group;
- Creation of a network of European youth workers multipliers;
- Open minds of the trainees;
- Create a Tool book for meal time.
Participants will get Youth Pass at the end of the training.
We use non formal methods: workshops, small and big mixed groups, manual work, sharing of experience and knowledge, debates, participative evaluations.
Participants are actively involved in all the activities of the project, from preparation to final realization. They will prepare the training at home, they will play an active role during the project and they will go back home with tools to disseminate the final results.
