In the lovely workcamp “City to countryside” volunteers will be in the village of Bandh, in a mountainous area, where they will support marginalized communities by participating in activities focused on environmental conservation, protection and education on fresh water sources, organic farming and women empowerment. This project will bring you to experience the rural community life in the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh. A visit to the beautiful city of Shimla will give you the chance to see the Himalayan Mountains!

In the following workcamps, volunteers will assist educators in teaching students basic English and introducing English songs for kids. They will also do renovation in the school through activities, such as making bookshelves for a library and painting the classroom. Volunteers will also be involved in cultural exchange and playing with kids after school hours in several extracurricular activities, such as sport, art, scout, music and traditional dance. In their free time, volunteers will have the chance to visit the diverse exciting attraction in Jembrana and Bali which are popular all over the world (beaches, temples, handicraft making centre or traditional markets.)

If you are highly motivated to work while experiencing different type of life style, accept challenges, adapt to local environment, respect and accept local life and culture, have a look at the project entitled “HIGU”. You will have the opportunity to participate in recreational activities with local children, social, environmental and manual work. You will learn about environment, culture, livelihood, traditional agriculture and industries, as well as rich history. In your free time you will visit nearby temples, historical sites, and some other attractive points located around the area.

This amazing workcamp will give you the opportunity to do voluntary work, but also to relax, while being immersed in the nature after hectic Christmas time, and getting to know Finnish culture.
The host organization IKKO is a modern, non-political and non-religious folk high school offering both general and vocational education for Finnish and international students and groups throughout the year. They also host special target groups, such as students with special needs, as well as young asylum seekers. The school surroundings need maintaining, so volunteers will work with seasonal tasks indoors and outdoors; they will also have the opportunity to join the preparations for school New Year festivities. In this project based in the village of Salvatonica, close to the lovely town of Bondeno (Ferrara), volunteers will build small houses for disadvantaged people, in an area close to Burana village where once was the city kennel.
