Αυτή την εβδομάδα διαλέξαμε για εσάς και σας προτείνουμε 5 προγράμματα στην Κένυα και 1 στην Τανζανία, τα θέματα των προγραμμάτων είναι κοινωνικά και έχουν να κάνουν με δράσεις που αφορούν παιδιά.
Τανζανία
1) UV.1934, KIDS CHRISTMAS CAMP, ENVI SOCI KIDS, 10/12/19 - 23/12/19, 16-99, extra fee 250 euro.
By participating in this beautiful and meaningful project, you will contribute to organize a series of recreational activities for children aged 5 – 13 years old, mostly pre-school and primary school students, during Christmas holidays, a period in which they would not have this opportunity. You will play indoor and outdoor games that will stimulate learning, team building and activeness. Furthermore, you will do gardening, ornamental and vegetable planting, and many more exciting activities! In your leisure time, you will have the chance to explore Zanzibar’s historical, natural and cultural sites, such as museums, local markets, wildlife and marine life (Jozani forest National Park, Blue safaris swimming, tours to small islands, etc.). Κένυα
2) CIVS/STV-01/2020, KHALABA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP, Harambee Mumias, CONS EDU AGRI, 04/01/20 - 22/01/20, 18-70, extra fee 265 euro.
This lovely workcamp will give you the opportunity to support the Khalaba Community Development Group, a community-based organization running a local orphanage school in the Western Province of Kenya, with the aim of improving orphans’ and vulnerable children’s educational standards, so that they will be able to take care of themselves. You will do farm work and brick making, and you will also teach children mathematics, English, science, social studies subjects, and engage in sport activities and games with them.
3) CIVS/STV-02/2020, AHERO RESOURCE CENTRE, KIDS EDU AGRI, 09/02/20 - 26/02/20, 18-70, extra fee 265 euro.
This interesting and varied project blends agricultural work and activities with children. Indeed, volunteers will plant trees, do farm and general maintenance work, but they will also play with, teach, and cook for kids, as well as assist in the computer and work readiness training which is organized by the hosting organization. Volunteers will participate in home visits and cultural exchanges, as well.
4) KVDA/STV/01A, CRANES OF DAGO THIM SELF HELP GROUP, Kisumu, SOCI KIDS STUD DISA MANU, 04/01/20 - 25/01/20, 18-99, extra fee 300 euro.
This workcamp, whose theme is the empowerment of young women, supports the work of a self-help group promoting and protecting children’s rights and supporting widows and orphans. Volunteers will participate in manual work and intercultural activities. Moreover, they will do farm work, e.g. food crop farming with widows; and they will teach and play with children.
5) KVDA/STV/01B, ST. THERESA MABERA PRIMARY SCHOOL, Migori, KIDS EDU, 04/01/20 - 25/01/20, 18-99, extra fee 300 euro.
This project will take place in a school located in a marginalized ethnic community in south-western Kenya. There, volunteers will teach and play with children; sensitize parents, children, and the entire community to the effects of female genital mutilation (FGM); and participate in home visits to the orphans and the most vulnerable members of local community, among other meaningful activities.
6) KVDA/STV/02A, SHINING STAR ECDC & ORPHANS SCHOOL, Migori, CONS KIDS EDU, 08/02/20 - 29/02/20, 18-99, extra fee 300 euro.
This workcamp will take place in a school founded to answer the needs of a local community which has to face several serious challenges, to mention a few of them, a high percentage of orphans whose parents were sick with AIDS; poverty and high illiteracy levels within the community, coupled with high unemployment rates. You will take part in various activities, such as brick making and construction work at the school; fostering awareness on HIV/AIDS; teaching primary and secondary school students; promoting sports and extracurricular activities; working in the school garden; organizing games, songs, dance and other creative educational activities; and home visits.
