ILEARN – Innovative Learning Environment for Refugee Adult Language Needs is a one-year Erasmus+ Small-Scale Partnership project focused on strengthening language education for adult refugees through innovative, inclusive, and practice-based learning environments. The project supports educators and organisations working in adult education by providing a structured training course, curriculum, learning modules, and practical tools grounded in real-life teaching experience.

Building on ELIX’s long-standing work in non-formal education, ILEARN creates space for reflection, evaluation, and consolidation of educational practices developed over the years. Through close collaboration and knowledge exchange, the project promotes capacity building and the transferability of learning materials across different educational contexts.
Within the framework of the Small-Scale Partnership programme, Dråpen i Havet collaborates with ELIX, the University of Bergen, and the Second Chance School of Kalamata to develop training modules and approaches tailored to the needs of educators and organisations working in adult refugee education. Drawing on the combined expertise of practitioners, researchers, and educational institutions, the partnership ensures that the project outputs are both academically informed and practically applicable.
By combining practical implementation, reflective processes, and stakeholder engagement, ILEARN contributes to improving the quality, sustainability, and impact of refugee adult language education, while fostering collaboration among educators, institutions, and community actors.
