Αυτή την εβδομάδα ετοιμάσαμε για εσάς μια λίστα με δώδεκα υπέροχες προτάσεις εθελοντισμού για αυτό το καλοκαίρι στην Ιταλία, την Γαλλία και την Σερβία, ένα προορισμό που είναι εύκολο να φτάσεις κυρίως αν μένεις στην βόρεια Ελλάδα.
Ιταλία
1. CPI15, WHV - VOLUNTEERING IN HERCULANEUM, Ercolano, MANU CULT, 31/08/19 - 14/09/19, 18-25.
If you love art and antiquity, this is the project for you! The workcamp is located in beautiful Ercolano, an Italian town which lies at the western foot of Mount Vesuvius, on the Bay of Naples, just southeast of the city of Naples. The town is famous for its ancient Roman city Herculaneum, one of the few ancient cities to be preserved almost intact, like its sister city Pompeii, for having been buried in ash by the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in the 79 CE. This workcamp will give you the opportunity to welcome, giving information on the site, and orient visitors in the ancient Herculaneum and in the Antiquarium of the Archaeological Park; you will even have the chance to participate in a frescos painting workshop in the famous Villa dei Papiri.
2. CPI06, ROIATE, Roiate, ENVI MANU, 03/08/19 - 17/08/19, 18-30.
Roiate is a small isolated and picturesque village, about 60 km from Rome, surrounded by a natural park where there are also ancient ruins. By participating in this project, you will support a nonprofit organization which promotes sustainable tourism and local development of territory through hiking. You will do environmental work, such as cleaning and maintenance of paths, old fountains and ruins, signals and fences restoring, and you will hike mountains every day!
3. CPI09, RADIO ONDA D'URTO 2, Brescia, MANU FEST, 15/08/19 - 28/08/19, 18-30.
If you participate in this workcamp you will not only help to set up and run a festival in a beautiful town a few kilometers from Lake Garda, you will also support the activities of an independent Italian radio station, called Radio Onda d’Urto. Since 1992, the Social Centre “Magazzino 47” organizes a summer festival in Brescia, in order to finance the radio station and its activities. Radio Onda d’Urto provides social, political and cultural information out of the mainstream media. The aim of the workcamp is to support an independent voice and, through it, freedom of speech. During your free time you will have the opportunity to join concerts, performances, DJ-sets, etc. in the festival area.
4. CPI10, VILLA BONA 2, Carignano, MANU CULT, 25/08/19 - 07/09/19, 18-30.
The aim of the project “VILLA BONA”, is to restore Villa Bona in Carignano, a wonderful historical villa of the 18th century surrounded by a big park, and to make it usable for public events, concerts, exhibitions, etc. Carignano is a small town 20 km South of Turin. This year the central idea of the workcamp is to exchange traditions and explore other cultures, so for example some Carignano's families will host volunteers for a dinner in the house to share their culture and way of life. The outdoor manual work will be in a garden close to the river Po cutting bamboo and cleaning paths and weeds; painting benches and fences in public gardens in the village. The work inside Villa Bona will be scratching wooden doors and painting them. There could also be cleaning work in bell towers and churches. Volunteers will also meet an association that runs a refugee project.
5. CPI12 GUARDIAREGIA YOUTH ACTION CAMP, Guardiaregia, ENVI MANU, 27/07/19 - 05/08/19, 18-30.
Guardiaregia is a small mountain town in the province of Campobasso in Molise region. The settlement exists since ancient Roman times. Nowadays it represents a typical mountain town with few inhabitants in winter, a bit more in summer, that struggles to preserve its identity and traditions. Even being part of WWF oasis and owning a huge natural and cultural heritage it is still not well-known for tourists. This first international workcamp is organized together with newly established cultural association “ARTETECA Molise” that dedicates its activities to the rediscovery and enhancement of the tangible and intangible heritage of Molise. This international workcamp aims to restore some natural area, raise awareness about Guardiaregia’s heritage and encourage cultural exchange with local people.

6. CONCF-061, ARGENTRE DU PLESSIS, STAND UP FOR HERITAGE, Argentre du Plessis, RENO, 05/07/19 26/07/19, 18-99.
In this lovely project, you will restore a wash-house in a charming little Breton town. Located right in the heart of a park, it is the perfect place to interact with young locals, who will work with you side by side, and with inhabitants with whom you will share friendly moments! Moreover, volunteers will receive 160-euro contribution (given to the volunteers in cash) to their costs.
7. CONCF-063, ILLIFAUT, JOIN US TO RESTORE THE PLOUGHMAN HOUSE, Illifaut, RENO, 10/07/19 - 31/07/19, 18-99.
This is a really great project supported by passionate locals that want to restore an old ploughman's house. You may have a look at the promotional video, although it is in French, pictures tell more than words!
8. CONCF-064, PLEVIN, IN THE HEART OF BRITTANY, Plevin, RENO, 10/07/19 - 31/07/19, 18-99.
Volunteers will restore an outer wall by using traditional masonry techniques. You will be in a lovely place full of hiking trails. You will have the chance to go on a trip to the sea and to enjoy the atmosphere of the music festival “Les Vieilles Charrues” which takes place there every summer in July. It is the biggest music festival in France (around 280 000 visitors last year)!
9. CONCF-182, AUBIGNE-RACAN, ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESTORATION, Aubigne-Racan, RENO ARCH, 05/07/19 - 26/07/19, 18-99.
This project is the perfect choice for you if you are interested in history! You will restore a part of the archeological site by weeding and doing renovation work at the thermal baths and the temple using traditional masonry.
10. JR19/103, HERITAGE CONSERVATION - ST JEAN DE NAY, Le Puy en Velay, RENO MANU, 07/07/19 - 27/07/19, 18-30.
You will participate in the renovation of the small heritage which is a central element of the village, especially the fountains. One of the fountains will be cleaned and paved. You will participate in the work with other international volunteers and a technical supervisor will teach you specific techniques concerning this restoration.
11. JR19/206, POLEYMIEUX AU MONT D'OR, Poleymieux, RENO, 22/07/19 - 10/08/19, 18-30.
This year volunteers are invited to participate in restoration work on a dry-stone wall. Supervised by a technical leader, you will learn how to bring up a wall using ancestral methods. Poleymieux is a small village, with one shop only, that has kept a very peaceful atmosphere. You will have time to enjoy the bucolic surroundings by walking, to rest and to meet the inhabitants, who will be happy to invite you for dinners. Possible leisure activities: discovering the Beaujolais and the Mont d’Or region, visit of Lyon (only 10 kms from Poleymieux), swimming, visit of a local farm, canoeing, meeting with other camps’ volunteers.

12. VSS11, ACTIVE SUMMER, Kula, RENO, 22/07/19 - 03/08/19, 18-99.
The aim of the project is to promote sport, local development and the touristic potential of the village of Ruski Krstur, a place mostly inhabited by Ruthenians who in this region have a centuries-old tradition and the cultural centre of the Ruthenian nationality in Serbia, in Ruski Krstur. You will have the opportunity to do renovation work, organize different sports tournaments and activities for local youth, and work on promoting healthy and active lifestyle.
13. VSS19, WETLANDS CONSERVATION 2 – SECRET LIFE OF BIRDS, ENVI, 07/08/19 - 16/08/19, 18-99.
By participating in this project, you will support the work of VEM, a non–governmental organization that aims to create sustainable communities, by working on the development of environmental protection, ecotourism, youth and volunteer programs. You will do various environmental activities and you will get the chance to know more about the ‘Kovilj-Petrovaradin Wetlands’ through workshops about flora and fauna, bird watching trips and other specially designed activities.
