Ο χειμώνας είναι μια ξεχωριστή εποχή και σε χώρες στον βορρά της Ευρώπης προσφέρει μοναδικές εμπειρίες που στην Ελλάδα δύσκολα μπορείς να έχεις.
Αυτή την εβδομάδα διαλέξαμε 4 προγράμματα στην Φινλανδία και την Εσθονία, το ένα από αυτά σου δίνει την δυνατότητα να περάσεις τις διακοπές της Πρωτοχρονιάς σε ένα πραγματικά χειμωνιάτικο περιβάλλον.
Φινλανδία
1. ALLI01, LAPLAND WINTER 2019, Inari, ENVI, 14/01/19 - 28/01/19, 18-99.
This amazing project will give you the opportunity to live a unique experience where you will work in freezing conditions and you will create a tour ice skating track for local people on the Lake Muddus. You will be hosted by Vasatokka, one of the ten national youth centers which provide services for young people, support the work of teachers and trainers, and host national and international youth activities. The centre offers a safe operational environment for children and young people. Do not worry about cold weather! January is a great time for Aurora Borealis hunting in Lapland and it is always warm indoors in Finland, whatever temperature there is outdoors. The place is far from civilization, and if you like nature, you will fall in love with the location! Take the chance and live an unforgettable experience!
2. ALLI29, NEW YEAR, Punkaharju, EDU CULT, 28/12/18 - 06/01/19, 18-99, Extra Fee 150 Euro.
The host organization Ikko is a modern, non-political and non-religious folk high school offering both general and vocational education for Finnish, as well as international, students and groups throughout the year. They also host special target groups, such as students with special needs and young asylum seekers. In this project, located in the town Punkaharju, volunteers will do maintenance at the school surroundings through various seasonal tasks indoors and outdoors. Volunteers can also join the preparations of school New Year festivities. Have a look at Vicky’s experience, she went to the same workcamp last year!
3. ALLI02, WINTERTIME, Punkaharju, EDU CULT, 17/02/19 - 02/03/19, 18-99, Extra Fee 150 Euro.
This project is very similar to the previous one, but it runs on different dates. The school surroundings need maintaining, hence volunteers will work with seasonal tasks indoors and outdoors. Volunteers can join winter activities and chores. Punkaharju is located in eastern Finland near Savonlinna and it takes about four hours by train from Helsinki. The school is situated in a location of superb natural beauty, right on the magnificent Punkaharju ridges surrounded on both sides by lakes. The area offers excellent opportunities for nature and outdoor activities. Volunteers can also attend some Finnish language and culture lessons, as well as do excursions to local sights.

4. EST01, FIRE ARTIST’S COMPETITION 2019, Tallinn, FEST, 02/02/19 - 11/02/19, 18-99, Extra Fee 100 Euro.
Have a look at this exciting project where volunteers will support the implementation of a very particular festival dedicated to Fire Artists! Every winter the International Fire Artist’s Competition takes place in Estonia and it is organized by a small community of Fire Artist’s Association. Right now, your help is needed, since there are not enough people to get everything done for the event! It will be a beautiful and valuable experience where you will help in preparation; do practical tasks; have the opportunity to be creative and generate ideas; take part in cultural and art solutions. The Fire Artist’s Competition will take place in the historical baroque Kadriorg Park of Tallinn which is 300 years old!
