Αυτή την εβδομάδα διαλέξαμε για εσάς οχτώ προγράμματα εθελοντικής εργασίας στην Αφρική και συγκεκριμένα στην Τανζανία, έναν σημαντικό προορισμό για όλους τους εθελοντές που είχαν την ευκαιρία να συμμετέχουν.

1. UV.A-1832 CHILDREN CHRISTMAS CAMP, SOCI KIDS CULT, 09/12/18 - 28/12/18, 16-99, Extra Fee 250 euro.
This lovely project will give you the opportunity to offer a beautiful Christmas period to children and teenagers aged 6-14 years old who otherwise, due to socioeconomic limitations, would not enjoy Christmas time when most private and public schools are closed in Tanzania. The activities which volunteers will do during the project are various and exciting: indoor and outdoor games; ornamental and vegetable planting, composting, garden tours; activities in nature: bird watching, learning about various plants, birds, animals, worms, and insects available in the area; helping children to do their homework, in order for them to get ready for the new year studies. The project is located in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam City.
2. UV.A-1833, SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS, EDU CULT ART, 09/12/18 - 28/12/18, 16-99, Extra Fee 250 euro.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), otherwise known as Global Goals, are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. In order to contribute to this idea, volunteers will do community service (planting trees in an ecovillage, public places and schools) and participate in SDGs education and awareness initiative which will inform both volunteers and community members about sustainable development goals through workshops, debates, discussions and educational tours. The project is located in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam City.
3. UV.A-1901 ZANZIBAR: NATURAL SEAWALL, ENVI SOCI MANU, 13/01/19 - 26/01/19, 16-99, Extra Fee 250 euro.
4. UV.A-1903, ISLANDS: NATURAL SEAWALLS, ENVI SOCI AGRI, 27/01/19 - 09/02/19, 16-99, Extra Fee 250 euro.
The beautiful project “Natural Seawall” runs on different dates in January 2019 and is located in Uzi, a lovely small island in the South of Zanzibar whose inhabitants are mostly fishermen and farmers. The island is located in the Menai bay conservation area which forms an important ecosystem of mangrove forests, coral reefs and a large diversity of plants, land and water animals, including dolphins, African Sea Eagles, and protected marine turtles. In this wonderful place you will have the extraordinary opportunity to actively contribute to ecological sustainability and to the reforestation of the island’s mangrove forests which constitutes the main natural “sea-wall”, a kind of coastal defense which protects areas of human habitation, conservation and leisure activities from the action of tides, waves or tsunamis. Apart from restoring and improving biodiversity in the area, in this project you will also join and facilitate environmental workshops aimed at sensitizing local community about environmental issues.
5. UV.A-1902 ZANZIBAR: ARTS AND AMP; MUSIC, SOCI CULT ART, 20/01/19 - 09/02/19, 16-99, Extra Fee 250 euro.
This Arts and Music project for community action is also located in the island of Uti and is a very unique program that is expected to bring together volunteers with or without skills in Arts/Music, but with passion to stimulate positive change in the society. The project goal is to develop and create meaningful events and performing arts programs embodying development through culture. If you choose this project, you will do various tasks, such as actively participating in arts and music workshops; developing artistic, creative material, and actions in addressing environment conservation and climate change issues; and you will even do tree planting to get to know the local culture better!
6. UV.A-1905, ISLANDS: MUSIC AND AMP; ARTS, KIDS CULT ART, 17/02/19 - 09/03/19, 16-99, Extra Fee 250 euro.
This project is very similar to the previous one, but it is located in Chake-chake, part of Pemba Island.
7. UV.A-1904 CHILDREN FOR BETTER FUTURE, KIDS MANU EDU, 10/02/19 - 23/02/19, 16-99, Extra Fee 250 euro.
8. UV.A-1906, PEMBA ISLAND: KIDS FOR BETTER FUTURE, Short_term/ workcamp, RENO SOCI KIDS, 24/02/19 - 09/03/19, 16-99, Extra Fee 250 euro.
“Children for better future”, which runs in different periods between February and March 2019, is a project aiming to complement the efforts made by the Government to create a safer and conducive to learning environment for children from Primary to Secondary school level, and to contribute towards a significant change in school performance. In this important action you will participate in the decoration and renovation of classrooms; assist in environmental education and information activities addressing students; and you will organize extra-curricular activities for kids and teenagers (7-17 years old) after school hours. These includes sports, games, English Language, arts, crafts, remedial classes mostly for mathematics subject etc. (depending on your interests and skills).
