Η ΕΛΙΞ σας παρουσιάζει και σας προτείνει 4+2 προγράμματα για αυτό το καλοκαίρι στον Καναδά.

Η οργάνωση Chantiers Jeunesse έχει ετοιμάσει 4 WorkCamps μικρής διάρκειας και 2 μέσης διάρκειας (MTV).

Όσοι ενδιαφέρονται θα πρέπει να κάνουν αιτήσεις νωρίς καθώς για την συμμετοχή σε εθελοντικά προγράμματα στον Καναδά είναι αναγκαία η έκδοση σχετικής Visa (Temporary Work Permit), για την οποία η διαδικασία χρειάζεται 6 έως 8 εβδομάδες, όπως περιγράφουν οι αναλυτικές πληροφορίες παρακάτω.

Η προθεσμία αίτησης για τα MTV είναι η 26 Φεβρουαρίου (MTV01) και η 12 Μαρτίου (MTV02).

Για τα μικρής διάρκειας Workcamps δεν υπάρχει προθεσμία αλλά όσο πιο νωρίς τόσο το καλύτερο ώστε να μπορεί κάποιος να έχει χρόνο, αφού γίνει δεκτός, να κλείσει φθηνότερα εισιτήρια και να κάνει τις αναγκαίες προετοιμασίες.

CJ-11 Le P’tit bonheur Lac Supérieur 28/05-19/06 ENVI/RENO 10 vols

LOCAL ORGANIZATION: Base Camp Le P’tit Bonheur, Municipality of Lac Supérieur. A charming base camp located in the beautiful Laurentides region! In this authentic Québec region located North of Montréal, Le P’tit Bonheur offers you a place where nature is both fun and pure. You will enjoy activities outdoors such as canoeing, campfires, and much more. The camp leaders and the permanent camp staff can’t wait for you to meet the school groups, take part of the various activities and make the most of the beautiful surrounding landscapes.

WORK: The aim is to rebuild the original playground infrastructure (tipis, treehouses, etc.).Your work will enhance the social environment and the activities’ program for the children.

ACCOMMODATION: In the Annexe (small house) of Le P’tit bonheur

LOCATION: Le P’tit bonheur is located 116 km North of Montréal and 22 km West of Mont-Tremblant

CJ-21 Sainte-Thérèse I Sainte-Thérèse 26/06-17/07 ENVI 12 vols
LOCAL ORGANIZATION: City of Sainte-Thérèse. Over 10 years ago, the municipality and Chantiers jeunesse volunteers began transforming an abandoned site into a new green space located right in the town center, some 30 km north of Montréal. The site, known as the “Pit à Charron” (the Charron’s Pit) is a former quarry and was for many years a garbage dump! The groups toiled away to clean the site and begin a landscaping job. We are, as a result, a long way from the first two phases when 800 tires were found and the first paths and trails were built! This site is now a nature park well known by the whole community. Participants have helped with the installation of windmills used to filter the water of the ponds. One of these ponds has, by the way, been named after Chantiers jeunesse to honour the groups! Welcome to the “Jardin des Sources” (Springs Garden)!

WORK: Two groups will follow one another this summer in July and in August to improve the accessibility of the site for the citizens and to bring out the ecological and natural character of the site. Moreover, you will get the chance to work with youths from the Ste-Thérèse Youth Club. Here is the challenge that awaits you in this bird’s paradise:
- Clean some areas in the park and the Lamothe pit ;
- Plant trees and shrubs to reduce erosion;
- Clean the lakes and the rivers surrounding the site.
Work will be divided in two parts (July and August) depending on the workcamp’s progress.

ACCOMMODATION: In the student residences of the College of Sainte-Thérèse.

LOCATION: Sainte-Thérèse is located 30 km north of Montréal.

CJ-32 Saint-Bruno-de-Kamouraska Saint-Bruno-de-Kamouraska 01/08-15/08 12 vols
LOCAL ORGANIZATION: Comité d’action communautaire de Saint-Bruno. Located in the lands of the lovely Kamouraska region East of Québec City, Saint-Bruno-de-Kamouraska has 560 inhabitants. The local Community Action Committee (Comité d’action communautaire de Saint-Bruno) gathers volunteers working for the improvement of their community on the cultural, patrimonial, social and economical levels. One of the committee’s priorities is to offer citizens of all ages a more pleasant and inviting environment: improvement of the built patrimony of the Saint-Bruno Fabric, the lay-out of rest areas and renovation of various leisure infrastructures. The volunteers being very efficient, the Committee received much appreciated help from 3 groups of Chantiers jeunesse in the last 5 years. This summer, the nice people of Saint-Bruno are waiting for you to help them re-embellish the village!

WORK: The project consists in the renovation of some buildings and leisure sites in the center of the village and to build a commemorative sign for Chantiers jeunesse. Work under the sun and warm meetings await you!
- Renovate and improve the municipal infrastructure: painting, minor repairs, wood work ;
- Clean the library and the multigenerational activity center ;
- Plant trees and build fences ;
- Do landscaping in some paths around the river ;
- Do landscaping in municipal parks.

ACCOMMODATION: The group will live in a house of Saint-Bruno-de-Kamouraska.

LOCATION: Saint-Bruno-de-Kamouraska is located 401 km East of Montréal and 164 km East of Québec.

CJ-MTV-01 Co-leader on workcamps 23/05-18/06 1 vols
LOCAL ORGANIZATION: Chantiers jeunesse and local hosts
For the last few years, Chantiers jeunesse has sent many co-leaders on our partners’ workcamps, mostly in France and in Mexico. This year, we would like to welcome two co-leader on our own projects in Québec. After a few days of training in Montréal, he will get the opportunity to lead three workcamps (one in may), in the region of the Laurentides with a leader from Québec.

WORK:
To be a workcamp co-leader is:
-To be responsible for the supervision and realisation of a volunteer wok project in collaboration with another leader.
-To assist a group of a dozen young volunteers coming from different countries and help them complete their project.
-To establish a good relationship between the volunteers, the local host and the local community.
The ideal arrival date is May 23th, in order to attend the training and to be there for the preparation days taking place that week.
The volunteer will be co-leader on Le P’tit Bonheur workcamps until June 18th.

ADMISSIBILITY CITERIAS
-To be aged of 18 years old and older
-To have previous volunteer experience, preferably an experience in a leadership position
-To be bilingual (French, English)

CONDITIONS
The accommodation in Montréal is provided as well as the Montréal-workcamp place transportation.
During the workcamp, food and lodging are provided.

DEADLINE TO APPLY
A CV and a motivation letter have to be sent through our partner organisation on February 28th at the latest.
There will be a phone interview before the final selection.

CJ-MTV-02 Co-leader on workcamps 20/06-07/08 1 vols

LOCAL ORGANIZATION: Chantiers jeunesse and local hosts
For the last few years, Chantiers jeunesse has sent many co-leaders on our partners’ workcamps, mostly in France and in Mexico. Πληροφορίες σχετικά με την Visa: (Temporary work permit and visa)
The temporary work permit is MANDATORY for all volunteers and so is the visa, if required.

The volunteer must, before departure, request an Employment Authorization to the Immigration Services of a Canadian Consulate (and provide many documents required by their Consulate which include: form IMM 1295B, invitation letter from Chantiers jeunesse, copy of the passport, photos, proof of sufficient funds – copy of the bank account statement). Before leaving, he/she must receive a letter delivered by Immigration Services of a Canadian Consulate. He/She must present this letter at the Canadian border to obtain a temporary work permit. This permit is required by Canadian authorities even if the work is on voluntary basis. This permit is usually easy to get, but the process takes around 6 to 8 weeks. However, starting January 1st 2008, the Canadian Government decided to impose a fee of 150$ CAD to deliver all temporary work permits.

Η άνοιξη πλησιάζει και τα προγράμματα εξακολουθούν να "τρέχουν".

Εάν επιθυμείς να συμμετέχεις στην συντήρηση - ανακατασκευή ενός πύργου σε ένα κάστρο στην Γαλλία ή την προετοιμασία ενός τοπικού φεστιβάλ στην Τουρκία ή είσαι λάτρης της φύσης και του βιολογικού φαγητού, η ΕΛΙΞ έχει να σου προτείνει 8 προγράμματα με προορισμούς την Γαλλία, Γερμανία, Σερβία, Τουρκία και Τσεχία.

1. IBG 01, HEIDENHEIM A. D. BRENZ (BADEN-WURTTEMBERG), στο Heidenheim της Γερμανίας, από 05/04/2015 -18/04/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Περιβαλλοντικό -Ανακαίνισης.

"Your host is the Open-Air Theatre Heidenheim, the 2nd largest one of its kind in Southern Germany. The Open-Air Theatre is run by an association. There are lots of things to do: first, the stage needs to be prepared: to create the scenery, there is woodwork to do, like sawing, drilling, screwing and painting. Second, the whole area needs to be improved for the oncoming season, which is mainly gardening work: cutting and plant bushes, painting a fence, and so on."

2. SDA 101, MORAVIAN COUNTRYSIDE SPRING, στο Straznice της Τσεχίας, από 26/04/2015 - 09/05/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Περιβαλλοντικό - Συντήρησης.

"The workcamp will take place in the small Moravian village of Tvarozna Lhota, situated in the White Carpathian Mountains, near the Slovak border. The aim is to maintain the area of Travicna after winter. The work will be manual. Firstly, volunteers will work in the outdoor museum, mainly repairing fences, making hay, cleaning, and weeding the herb garden. Secondly, volunteers will collect herbs from the surrounding meadows, which will then be used for the production of herbal teas."

3. U01, RAW EARTH- ECOCONSTRUCTION IN MADONARTS, στο Puygaillard de quercy της Γαλλίας, από 16/05/2015 - 30/05/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Περιβαλλοντικό - Συντήρησης.

"In 2015, our work will be to finish the wall in ’pisé’ which we started in 2014. The pisé is a technique of construction using rammed earth, like the ’bauge’ (clay and straw mortar) or ’torchis’ (wattle and daub). To use it, you create big wooden boxes. You press and compact earth with water in the boxes until you get a very compact mix. You will work approximatively 6 hours a day with our technical leader to restore the building. The rest of the time, the campleaders will offer several activities, entertainment and outings. It is expected of each of you an active involvement to develop and live comfortably the tasks of daily life (kitchen and camp maintenance ...) as well as activities of cultural discovery. Be creative! You will experience a life group! This project is focusing on education to eco-citizenship through practices such as waste sorting, making a compost and the use of dry toilets. Eco-citizenship is a stakeholder in this little corner of paradise, the area of MadOnArts."

4.VSS01, SPRING IN TOPONICA, DONJA TOPONICA, στο Nis της Σερβίας, από 17/05/2015 - 27/05/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Περιβαλλοντικό - Αγροτικό. Extra fee: 25€

"Having an international group in the village will attract people to interact, make friends, so it is more likely that the impact to the local community in terms of environmental awareness will be greater and that the interaction through work and many cultural and social events. Members of Group Kobra, from this year, among the programs for young people, culture, sport and environmental, will introduce a new program for agriculture and rural development. Our idea is to produce healthy food which will be used as a food for volunteers on our camps (we have three planed camps in 2015). Our field will be visited by pupils and teachers from local elementary school because it is going to be an experimental field with variety of plants. We want to introduce the concept of permaculture. We want to apply modern methods of soil treatment and plant production with the aim to show to people of Donja Toponica and Donja Trnava new way how to produce food. Participants of this camp will also have an opportunity to present their countries and cultures, also experiences with organic food production and permaculture in their countries, through the events that will be organized during the camp for local people. Our experience proves high level of interaction with local people and foreign volunteers, not only through the work, but also through the informal gathering."

5. SJ 05, CLAUSONNE ABBEY 1, στο Marseille της Γαλλίας, από 17/05/2015 - 23/05/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Συντήρησης.

"The West part of the abbey was added in the 19th century, the period when the abbey was used as a livestock farm. Even if this part called « the cochonniers » was the object of a workcamp last year, it still needs to be reinforced. The first intervention permitted to secure a zone by removing the vegetation and consolidating the walls. This year, you will continue this work in order to make this zone look nicer and above all, to make it more accessible. You will repoint the masonry and strengthen it if needed. The stones will be laid out and reassembled identically. A coping will protect the walls for a better water evacuation. Moreover, a small group will work on the maintenance of the site: bush cutting, weeding..."

6. IJGD 25316, A LIVING ROOM FOR PEOPLE AND ANIMALS, στο Babenhausen της Γερμανίας, από 24/05/2015 -06/06/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Καλλιτεχνικό - Περιβαλλοντικό -Συντήρησης.

"Under the expert leadership of an environmental educator and a skilled landscape gardener with the youth center workers in Babenhausen, your group will work on a garden formation that will be close to nature. The main goal of the camp will be to make the two hector large outside area more structured and therefore more diverse for the animal and plant world, but also for visitors. There is plenty to do, as various construction projects need to be done! An old wooden bridge needs to be redone, a bee hotel will be built, the fire pit needs to be renovated, and a barefoot path will be laid, as well as a shelter at the high ropes course. Your team will also get peeks into the pedagogic methods and goals at an environmental station, i.e. how to make complex topics such as sustainability and environmental protection exciting for visitors. Further small construction projects are planned, where you can be creative in enhancing the outside grounds!
Notice: You should be able to ride a bike. The project may be physically challenging and will take place outside no matter the weather"

7. GEN-06, LOCAL FESTIVAL, στο Bursa της Τουρκίας, από 01/06/2015 - 16/06/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Φεστιβάλ.

"Orhaneli town is hosting a big local festival every year. Thousands of people gather for the festival and enjoy it. Volunteers will help to the organization committee to prepare the festival and work for setting up the stage and the stands, cleaning the area, marking the ground, landscaping, etc. For the festival days, the volunteer group is also expected perform a show."

8. SJ03, ASPREMONT CASTEL, στο Aspremont της Γαλλίας, από 07/06/2015 -28/06/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Συντήρησης.

"This year’s workcamp will focus on restoring one of the four original towers, which is for the most part in ruins. After having made improvements to the interior walls of the tower in order to install scaffolding, the task at hand will now be to remove stones in danger of falling and then to reintegrate them into the wall. This workcamp, completed under the instruction of an archaeological overseer will allow you to discover techniques of traditional masonry and built heritage conservation."

Η ΕΛΙΞ σας προτείνει πέντε νέα ανοιξιάτικα Προγράμματα Εθελοντικής Εργασίας – WorkCamps, με προορισμούς την Γαλλία, την Ελβετία ,την Τουρκία και την Γερμανία.

1. SJ04, CREATION OF A PICNIC AREA IN A SPEC. HOST. CENTER, στο Laragne της Γαλλίας, από 15/03/2015 -05/04/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Ανακαίνισης.

"During this project, you will help the educative team to build an outdoor kitchen, so that the residents can make picnics and pizzas outside, in their garden. Together with the long term volunteers of the international center « The village of Vaunières » and some of the autistic residents, you will build a little oven to cook pizzas, create tables and set up the kitchen worktops. You will thus have the possibility to create links which cross international borders as well as borders related to disabilities. You will also have time to discover Laragne, visit the region and organize outdoor activities."

2. IJGD 25301, BUILD A MEADOW LABYRINTH- BAYREUTH GARDEN SHOW, στο Bayreuth της Γερμανίας, από 28/03/2015 - 11/04/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Περιβαλλοντικό - Καλλιτεχνικό - Ανακαίνισης .

"In 2016, the cultural and university city of Bayreuth will host Bavaria’s State Garden Show. Together with the Lindenhof Environmental Preservation and Information Center, a meadow labyrinth and pavilion will be built, under expert leadership. This will serve as a ‘green classroom’. Creativity is as necessary as working together for this project! Children and youth will enjoy this quiet oasis and area for games and discovery.

3. WS15CU01, SPRING CAMP, στο Cudrefin της Ελβετίας, από 05/04/2015 - 25/04/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Εκπαιδευτικό.

"The aim of the group “fRilingue” is to offer teenagers (age: 10 -18 years) language camps. The main work of the volunteers will be the preparation of the daily meals (breakfasts, lunches, dinners). Together with a cook they organise the menu schedule, do the shopping and wash the dishes afterwards. "

4. IBG 02, WALDSASSEN, στο Waldsassen της Γερμανίας, από 18/04/2015 -02/05/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Περιβαλλοντικό -Ανακαίνισης.

" Your task will be to prepare the garden for the season 2015, starting on 1st of May. This includes planting herbs, cutting, weeding and so on, but you will also do repair or reconstruction work, e.g. building a house for rabbits and/or chicken. Last year, a “Bee Adventure Trail” was installed (with an Insect Hotel, a life-size bear statue, and much more) that needs to be prepared again. Also, you will help to set up a small tree nursery with old cultivars. "

5. GEN-03, WATER LILY WOMEN ONLY, στο Duzce της Τουρκίας, από 29/05/2015 - 16/06/2015, τύπος εργασίας: Κοινωνικό. Μόνο για γυναίκες!

"The Water Lily Women Cooperative is running a kindergarten for the kids of the working mothers of Duzce city. Helping for the party organization and running activities for the kids, together with the staff. Also some gardening works will be a part of your work. "

Η ΕΛΙΞ σας προτείνει τρία νέα ανοιξιάτικα Προγράμματα Εθελοντικής Εργασίας – WorkCamps, δύο στο Βέλγιο και ένα στην Γερμανία.

1. CBB1501, CENTRE COULEURS DU MONDE I, στο Rendeux του Βελγίου, από 04/04/15 - 18/04/15, τύπος εργασίας Κοινωνικό – Καλλιτεχνικό.
“A mix of artistic “work” and animation with the youngest refugee (0 to 18 years old). Half of the time: your team will prepare some activities for the children of the centre (handicraft, sport, games... feel free to come with your ideas), the other activity will be to do a film report of a play prepare by the centre with the resident. You’ll be directly a witness of their work to explain the different procedure to ask for asylum in Belgium.”

2. CBB1502, FEDASIL REFUGEE CENTRE I, στο Rixensart του Βελγίου, από 05/04/15 - 18/04/15, τύπος εργασίας Κοινωνικό – Συντήρησης.
“The volunteers will give a hand and a fresh air to the Centre’s animation team – sportive or social games, billiard, movie clubs, fitness for women, football tournir, craft etc. To a lesser extent, It will depend of the weather, your team could have some activities as painting inside or Outside maintenance of the park They will be required to get actively involved in the daily life of the Centre. Half of the time will be devoted to proposals of activities for children and adults (according to the population currently present in the Centre). The management team of the centre is very well used to work with volunteers as they have been hosting this workcamp for several years.”

Οι πρώτες επιλογές για την άνοιξη του 2015 σιγά σιγά εμφανίζονται στην Μηχανή Αναζήτησης Προγραμμάτων Εθελοντικής Εργασίας της ΕΛΙΞ.

Εμείς σας προτείνουμε δύο από αυτά στο Βερολίνο μέσα στον Μάρτη μια εκπληκτική περίοδο να βρεθεί κάποιος στην Γερμανική πρωτεύουσα.

1. Ένα πρόγραμμα ανακαίνισης από την οργάνωση VEREIN.JUNGER FREIWILLIGER με κωδικό VJF 3.2 - BERLIN SPRING από 23/03/15 έως τις 03/04/15

2. ‘Ένα πρόγραμμα βελτίωσης και εκμάθησης Γερμανικών από την οργάνωση .JUNGER FREIWILLIGER με κωδικό VJF 3.1 - BERLIN - SPRACHCAMP 1 από 03/03/15 έως 14/03/15. Στο πρόγραμμα αυτό συμμετείχε η Βασιλική και μας περιγράφει την εμπειρία της.

Η ΕΛΙΞ εγκαινιάζει μια νέα συνεργασία με την Γερμανική οργάνωση Wilde Rose e.V. στην οποία θα αναπτύξουμε κοινές πρωτοβουλίες και δράσεις.

Στα πλαίσια αυτή της συνεργασίας αναζητά 2 εθελοντές ηλικίας από 18 έως 25 ετών, που θα υποστηρίξουν μαζί με άλλους εθελοντές την διοργάνωση της Διαπολιτισμική Συνάντηση παιδιών και νέων στο Geretsried της Βαυαρίας από 24/12 έως 4/1/2015. Στην συνάντηση θα συμμετέχουν νέοι και παιδιά από την Γερμανία και την Ελλάδα.

Η Wilde Rose (το Άγριο Ρόδο), είναι μία διαπολιτισμική οργάνωση ενταγμένη σε ένα μεγάλο γερμανικό δίκτυο οργανώσεων για νέους που αγαπούν τη φύση και τη ζωή σε αυτή, τη μουσική και το χορό από όλο τον κόσμο, τη γνωριμία και τη συναναστροφή με όλους τους πολιτισμούς και συνήθειες.

Είναι μια οργάνωση που καλλιεργεί τη διαφορετικότητα, αντιπαλεύει το ρατσισμό και τους αποκλεισμούς και είναι υπέρ της αλληλεγγύης και της συνύπαρξης, της συμμετοχής και της ενσωμάτωσης – συμπερίληψης. Στις εκδηλώσεις που σχεδιάζει και πραγματοποιεί σε διάφορες χώρες περιλαμβάνει και νέους με αναπηρίες. οι οποίοι συμμετέχουν στις δραστηριότητες, που είναι σχεδιασμένα με τέτοιο τρόπο, ανεξάρτητα από τις υποδομές και την προσβασιμότητα του χώρου που επισκέπτονται.

Οι εθελοντές θα υποστηρίξουν συνολικά την διοργάνωση της συνάντησης:

- θα υποστηρίξουν τις δραστηριότητες των παιδιών
- την προετοιμασία των γευμάτων και στο μαγείρεμα
- στη τακτοποίηση των χώρων
- την συνοδεία των παιδιών και νέων που έχουν ανάγκη βοήθειας ώστε να συμμετέχουν ενεργά στις δραστηριότητες

Οι εθελοντές θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να γνωρίσουν την ιστορία και τα έθιμα της Γερμανίας κατά την περίοδο των Χριστουγέννων, να συμμετέχουν σε δραστηριότητες στη φύση, να βελτιώσουν τις γνώσεις τους στα Γερμανικά, να δουν από κοντά και να υποστηρίξουν και να αποκτήσουν εμπειρία από την διοργάνωση μια συνάντησης που θα συμμετέχουν παιδιά και νέοι με και χωρίς ειδικές ανάγκες με στόχο την ενσωμάτωση, την αρμονικοί συνύπαρξη και την άρση των αποκλεισμών. Στους εθελοντές θα δοθεί πιστοποιητικό συμμετοχής και εθελοντικής προσφοράς.

Η διαμονή (http://www.jgh-geretsried.de/index.html) και η διατροφή καλύπτεται πλήρως από τους οργανωτές, οι εθελοντές θα πρέπει να καλύψουν τα έξοδα της μετακίνησής τους. Η συνάντηση θα λάβει μέρος 40 χλμ. έξω από το Μόναχο στους πρόποδες των Άλπεων.

Το ποσό συμμετοχής είναι 20€.

Για να δηλώσετε συμμετοχή πρέπει να συμπληρώσετε το παρακάτω ερωτηματολόγιο το αργότερο έως τις 30 Νοεμβρίου και θα τηρηθεί σειρά προτεραιότητας.

Η ΕΛΙΞ σας προτείνει τρία Προγράμματα Εθελοντικής Εργασίας – WorkCamp, ένα περιβαλλοντικό τον Νοέμβριο στη Σερβία και δύο για την περίοδο των Χριστουγεννιάτικων διακοπών, ένα στην Αγγλία και ένα στην Ρωσία.

Σερβία:
VSS 28 Ethno Art Kamp, Trsic 16/11/2014 – 26/11/2014 ENVI/ART 8 vols 18-40

Description: The small village of Trsic is the birthplace of Vuk Stefanovic Karadzic, the 19th century language reformer who is considered the father of the modern Serbian language. A portion of the village has been turned into an ethnographic park, centred on a recreation of the Karadzic family home. The pedestrian zone connecting Trsic and Tronosa monastery, once the road Vuk Karadzic was passing every day on his way to school (monastery itself), is polluted with mini waste dumps and garbage spreaded by tourists and local inhabitants. The environment as well as the attraction of this touristy place is endangered by the waste and its quantity.

Partner: The workcamp is a joint initiative of several local partner organizations working together on introducing the spirit of volunteerism and developing and improving rural and eco-tourism in Trsic (www.kamp-trsic.org.rs). The goal is to educate local people and motivate them to be active citizens in preserving the nature and other values for the sake of generations to come. This is the seventh year the camp is organized here, as the first six gave great results.

Work: Volunteers will work on cleaning the woods from garbage, clearing the vegetation, reconstruction of the info signs and boards, marking the walking and biking paths which are connecting Vuk’s house and 5km distant XIV century Tronosa monastery. Volunteers should be prepared for long hiking and hard work. The additional activity will be about sculpturing in the forests using natural materials (the idea is to make and hang them on the paths in the forest). All the art workshops will be led by artists.

Accommodation and food: In a fully equipped house only 50m away from Vuk’s house (www.trsic.co.rs), built in the same, traditional, style but at the same time very technologically advanced, in the heart of the ethno village. No sleeping bags needed.

Location and leisure: Trsic is a small village famous as the birth place of Vuk Karadzic, the reformist of Serbian language and orthography. Beside beautiful and preserved nature, green glades, thick forests and bounty of streams, this landscape offer an idyllic atmosphere of traditional Serbia of 18th and 19th century. Trsic is situated close to Loznica in the western part of Serbia.
Excursions to important cultural and historical points will be organized, together with visits to museums and one day for getting to know the children from the local school and participating in their special event. Participation of the local volunteers will be an essential part of the workcamp.

Special requirements: Volunteers should be nature and culture lovers prepared for long walks and hard work. Also, volunteers with interest and experience in land art are very welcome.

Extra fee: 20 EUR. Extra fee is used as an addition to the workcamp budget, for additional excursions and material for work.

VAP UK-05 / DULWICH CHRISTMAS WORKCAMP, LONDON / 13-20 December 2014 / 6 vols / 18+ 

A group of 6 volunteers are invited to spend a week in south London. But it won’t feel as if you are in a city: volunteers will stay at a Scout Centre in the midst of woodland with no houses in sight! Dulwich is a pleasant, quiet corner of London.

WORK: volunteers will work on different environmental projects. Two days will be with London Wildlife Trust completing practical conservation tasks in Sydenham Hill Woods, working alongside local volunteers. Work will be physical and it will be cold and possibly wet so please come prepared with waterproof clothing a good boots. London Wildlife Trust is an urban nature conservation charity working improve London's green spaces for people and wildlife. Other days will be working in nearby parks and with the local community. Visits to local projects of interest will be organised.

ACCOMMODATION: South London Scout Centre has bunk beds and central heating but it may be cold and wet. Sleeping bags and working clothes and shoes will be needed. The group will cook meals at the centre.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE: As this is a one week camp volunteers will arrive on Saturday 13th and depart on Saturday 20th and be together Sunday to Friday inclusive. If you want to visit London or go shopping arrange to arrive earlier or stay after the camp.

HOSTING FEE: It is difficult and expensive to stay in London so we have to charge £70 for the week. This will pay for the accommodation and a basic budget for food. Small bus fares for visits may be required in addition.

Ρωσία:
RU-SOD 5.1 WE ARE DIFFERENT, BUT WE ARE TOGETHER, KIDS, 03/01/2015-10/01/2015

This winter camp for Russian kids will take place in the recreation center not far from Cheboksary (the capital of the Chuvash republic). Foreign volunteers work together with Russian volunteers as counselors and organize cultural and educational activities for the participants (local school kids – aged 8-16).

Work:
1. Making intercultural and educational workshops (about the volunteers’ native countries, ecology, water resources, human rights, antiracism, etc);
2. Teaching foreign languages to the participants (in the form of playing games, singing songs or improve their language skills through discussions);
3. Organizing some sport activities, strategic games, shows and handcrafts.
The work is done 8 hours a day, one day off, for the day off sightseeing excursions are planned.

Accommodation and food: In the recreation center, in a heated brick house; counselors live together in male, female, mixed rooms. Showers are available. No sleeping bags are needed, food is provided in the cafeteria.

Location & leisure: The workcamp is situated in Russia, Cheboksary. The volunteers will need to fly (or arrive with any other transport: train, bus etc.) to Moscow and take a train from Moscow to Cheboksary. In Cheboksary the volunteers will be met by the Russian volunteers and move altogether to the workcamp.

Requirements: The volunteers are expected to have some experience of working with kids and organizing activities, intercultural experience is very welcome.
Certificate of no criminal records is required.
Motivation letter is required.

Η ΕΛΙΞ σας προτείνει το "YMCA FAIRTHORNE MANOR" ένα Πρόγραμμα Εθελοντικής Εργασίας Μακράς Διάρκειας (LTV) στις δυτικές ακτές της Αγγλίας κοντά στο Southampton. Η διάρκεια του προγράμματος είναι 7 μήνες.

Το θέμα είναι δραστηριότητες με παιδιά και καλύπτει πλήρως την εκπαίδευση σας, την διαμονή, την διατροφή και £70 κάθε εβδομάδα ως "pocket money".

After a very successful four years of running our LTV project with the YMCA Fairthorne Manor. The YMCA would love to give the opportunity to 6 - 8 Volunteers to do an 7 month project starting in March 2015 that will provide valid experience and training, working and running activities with children.

YMCA Fairthorne Group is a fast growing charity. There mission is to champion and add value to young lives by providing experiences that challenge, enable and develop the individual. . Fairthorne Manor, part of the Fairthorne Group, delivers outdoor education and environmental programmes to over 20,000 children and young people each year on both a residential and day basis. The Outdoor programme consists of a wide range of activities, including canoeing, climbing, bushcraft, abseiling, archery and a range of team games and pastoral activities. During term time, we deliver a diverse outdoor education programme to school and community groups, whilst during the holidays, we run an enormously successful Daycamp programme for children aged 4 to 16 years, catering for up to 500 children per day. We also run children’s birthday parties and family open days and camping, corporate team building days and community events such as Youth band practice, church meetings and counselling groups. Fairthorne Manor delivers services and programmes 7 days of the week throughout most of the year.

Work: Based at Fairthorne Manor, you will be trained to lead a wide range of outdoor activities. These include traditional outdoor pursuits such as Kayaking, Climbing and Archery, Low Ropes, Land and water Ecology, Bush craft, Initiative tests, Aqua slide and many more. You will also act as the link between the groups and the organisation, hosting their visit, preparing their accommodation, eating meals with them and providing evening activities. You will be based within the Outdoor Learning Team and supported by the permanent team.

Responsibilities:

As a Volunteer Activity Leader your main responsibilities are:
- To lead and take responsibility for activity sessions.
- To link with groups and host them during their stay.
- To ensure the correct and safe use of appropriate equipment.
- To give clear instructions to enable individuals to participate in the session.
- To have an awareness of the customers’ aims and objectives, and wherever possible meet all requirements.
- To be part of the duty system. Particular tasks associated with this include serving meals to the residential groups in the dining room and liaising with group leaders and responding to any issues.
- To make the appropriate Head of Department aware of any defective equipment.
- To take an active part in maintenance on a regular basis.
- To be aware of, and put into practice, all Health and Safety regulations.
- To have a working knowledge of Fairthorne Manor’s operational policies.

Other Duties:
- To assist with the maintenance and cleaning of the estate.
- To assist with duties in the kitchen and dining room.
- To assist with the delivery of ‘off site’ youth and children’s work.
- To assist with the delivery of the Family Park and Campsite
- To act in the interests of your own safety & the safety of others at all times
- Anything else reasonably requested by the management of the organisation
- To follow YMCA Fairthorne Group’s Safe Guarding, Child Protection and Safer Working practice policies at all times. Taking any concerns regarding a health or/and wellbeing to your line manager or senior management.

Volunteer profile:

- An outgoing and friendly personality, able to communicate well and engage a wide range of people, including children, staff and group leaders.
- A genuine enthusiasm for working with children
- A genuine enthusiasm for the work of the organisation.
- An aptitude for and interest in a wide range of sports.
- Willingness to learn new skills and undergo training.
- As this post involves working with children and living on site, all applicants must be aged between 18 – 30 years old.

Experience
Some experience of working with groups of young people in educational, youth or sporting environment.

Training: The YMCA offer full and comprehensive training in all elements of running outdoor activities. Combined with work experience here at Fairthorne Manor, this should secure you some National Governing Body Qualifications, such as British Canoe Union level 1.

Accommodation: Volunteers will be allocated a basic room, which may be shared with up to 4 other instructors. This is your own space and as much as possible we allow you to treat it as your own. Three meals a day will be will be provided in the dining room and there are toilet and shower facilities and a washing machine.
Please note, we are not a 5* hotel. We are more like a youth hostel with dormitory-style accommodation and basic facilities.

Location: Fairthorne Manor is located in a village called Curdridge which is near the city of Southampton on the South Coast of England. It is about 15 minutes walk from Fairthorne Manor into the village where there are shops and pubs. The nearest train station is Botley which is about half an hour’s journey into Southampton.

Terminal: London or Southampton Airports and Botley train station for arrivals and departures.

Working Hours: You will normally volunteer five days per week, some weeks you may be required to volunteer around 60 hours (during May, June and July – as this is our peak season), but your average should be no more than 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

Holiday: During your volunteering period you will receive two days off in 7 (sometimes non consecutive) and in addition you will accrue 1.5 additional free days per month which can be scheduled with your line supervisor.

Special Requirements: Volunteers will need to provide a certificate of good conduct /police check from home country, motivational letter, and provide two references, including one from their most recent school/ college or employer.

Extra Fee: 30 Euros

Once applications have been shortlisted, a skype interview will be conducted before confirming a place.
