Στην σελίδα αυτή θα βρείτε ευκαιρίες για εθελοντισμό, στην Ελλάδα και σε όλο τον κόσμο, καθόλη τη διάρκεια του έτους. 

Σε αυτά μπορούν να συμμετέχουν κάτοικοι τόσο από την Ελλάδα, όσο και από την Κύπρο, μέσω της ΕΛΙΞ. Τα Προγράμματα Εθελοντικής Εργασίας - WorkCamps μπορούν να έχουν διάρκεια από 15 ημέρες έως 12 μήνες.

Στις αρχές κάθε Μαρτίου, η ΕΛΙΞ και ολες οι υπόλοιπες οργανώσεις του διεθνούς δικτύου "Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organizations" προσέρχονται στην ετήσια συνάντηση προετοιμασίας για την ανακοίνωση των θερινών Προγραμμάτων Εθελοντική Εργασίας, ανταλλάσσοντας πληροφορίες και και προχωρώντας σε συμφωνίες προκειμένου να ετοιμάσουν εκατοντάδες καινούργια και συναρπαστικά προγράμματα. Στη συνέχεια τα προγράμματα αυτά παρουσιάζονται στην ιστοσελίδα μας, όπου και μπορείτε να τα βρείτε στην Μηχανή Αναζήτησης Προγραμμάτων της ΕΛΙΞ.

Η ΕΛΙΞ σας προτείνει ένα Πρόγραμμα Eθελοντικής εργασίας Mέσης Διάρκειας (ΜΤV) από την Γαλλική οργάνωση UNAREC που αναζητά 2 εθελοντές για την θέση: International placement help στο Clermont-Ferrand ώστε να βοηθήσουν στην διαχείριση (placement) εθελοντών και στις τοπικές δράσεις από το Μάρτιο έως τον Αύγουστο/Σεπτέμβριο 2014.


Οι εθελοντές πρέπει να είναι από 18 έως 25 ετών και κάτοικοι τις ΕΕ!

 

Το φετινό πρόγραμμα υλοποιήται στο πλαίσιο του French status of Civic Service.

 

Για τα προγράμματα αυτά ισχύουν οι Όροι Συμμετοχής της ΕΛΙΞ για τα Προγράμματα Εθελοντικής Εργασίας – WorkCamps. Για το πρόγραμμα αυτό το ποσό συμμετοχής 100€ καταβάλετε στην περίπτωση που γίνει δεκτή η αίτησή σας από την οργάνωση της Γαλλίας.

U-MTV01 International Placement help at Clermont – Ferrand, France, Spring/Summer 2014

Place: Clermont Ferrand, Puy-de-Dome in France
Duration: 6 months, from March to August (It can be from mid-March to mid-September; exact dates should be confirmed with the selected volunteers)
Number of volunteers: 2

 

Note: We will run this volunteering mission within the frame of CIVIC SERVICE, a French status for volunteering opening rights to social security, civic training and a monthly allowance. It is for people from European countries, from 18 to 25 years old.


PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Project: UNAREC (a French Non Profit NGO) is the union of several regional organisations called études ET chantiers.
This movement of Non Formal education was created in France in 1962.
We develop international and local workcamps, and volunteering projects all around France.
You will be hosted in the team in charge of the International programmes based in Auvergne (central part of France).
1000 international volunteers are exchanged every year on volunteering projects all over the world (we have partners in 70 countries). The spring/summer period is very intensive for placement work. This is when most of applications and departures towards international solidarity projects take place.

Work: The tasks are numerous and varied enough so that you will not get into a routine !

You will help in :
- The promotion of international workcamps towards regional organisations and international partners

- The promotion of workcamps towards French people through: updates in our websites (new projects or new stories), preparation of newsletters, possible participation to local promotional events…

- The answering and help to volunteers to find appropriate projects

- The placement of French volunteers and International volunteers (dealing with the administrative application procedure)

- Preparation and sending of Free places lists, infosheets, new projects to our international partners

- You will work in a team and your ideas will be very welcome ! You will work 35 hours a week, usually from Monday to Friday. Some week-ends will be dedicated to information and preparation of volunteers or leaders meetings, and also to the life of the organisation (general assembly, meetings with members…).


More information on the place: The office is located in the historical centre of Clermont-Ferrand, a step away from the neo-gothic cathedral (in volcanic stone). Clermont-Ferrand is a town of 200 000 inhabitants with a quite strong concentration of students. There are many things to do in the city : cinemas, swimming pools, concerts, exhibition, museums, spring and summer festivals…


Check www.ville-clermont-ferrand.fr . The town is a few kilometres far from the regional Park of the Auvergne Volcanoes for those who want to get some fresh air!

Accommodation: in a studio in the city center. The studio may be shared with the other MTV volunteer according to the selection.

Qualifications:
- 18-25 years old

- A previous voluntary experience (short or long term)

- Interested in associative life

- French (at least a medium level) and English speaking

- Organised approach, patient, ready to work in a team, with a capacity to work under pressure while keeping a good mood !

- Ability to use a computer with Internet and office softwares


Conditions:
- Accommodation provided in the town centre, in a studio flat

- Allowance from the state : 467,34€ per month

- Insurance (accident and civil liability) and social security covered by the state under the Civic Servic status (bring your European Health Card).

- You will receive a first aid training and a civic training according t the civic service status

- You will be trained on arrival and supervised by a smiling team!

- Arrival and departure dates are flexible


All applications will be studied and SKYPE interviews will be conducted from the 03rd of February to the 7th of February and the selected volunteers will be informed on the 10th of February at the latest

Προγράμματα Εθελοντικής Εργασίας με την ΕΛΙΞ στις ΗΠΑ

Η ΕΛΙΞ σας προτείνει 7 διαφορετικά προγράμματα εθελοντικής εργασίας στις ΗΠΑ της οργάνωσης Volunteers for Peace για το 2014. Τα προγράμματα είναι μέσης και μεγάλης διάρκειας, στις πολιτείες Βερμόντ, Λουιζιάνα και Νέα Υόρκη με θέματα κοινωνικά, περιβαλλοντικά και εργασίες συντήρησης.

 

Για να κάνει αίτηση συμμετοχής κάποιος πρέπει να συμπληρώσει στα αγγλικά και να στείλει στην ΕΛΙΞ στο Αυτή η διεύθυνση ηλεκτρονικού ταχυδρομείου προστατεύεται από τους αυτοματισμούς αποστολέων ανεπιθύμητων μηνυμάτων. Χρειάζεται να ενεργοποιήσετε τη JavaScript για να μπορέσετε να τη δείτε.  το VFP-Motivation-Document καθώς και το VEF-application-form. Οι αιτήσεις πρέπει να γίνουν τουλάχιστον 2 μήνες πριν την έναρξη του κάθε προγράμματος. VFPPERM01-14 COMMUNITY REENTRY and SOCIAL JUSTICE, BURLINGTON PERMANENT SOCI/MANU AGE 22+  4 Vols    Minimum 12 weeks; maximum 6 months
The Dismas House provides housing and opportunities to men and women getting out of prison so that they can successfully transition back into the community. http://www.dismasofvermont.org/

WORK:  Volunteers will be working as a Resident Advisor as well as on administrative tasks in small office. Volunteers are also expected to support the residential community by participating in group activities.

STUDY THEME: Criminal Justice

ACCOMMODATION: Shared room in large Victorian house, meals & laundry provided.

LOCATION: Burlington, Vermont. Burlington is a beautiful college town overlooking Lake Champlain (Pop. 40,000). Burlington is also the home of Volunteers For Peace and we welcome volunteers in our office. There are two other Dismas locations nearby in Winooski and Rutland Vermont.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES: Recreation includes house activities and many festivals and events in area. Volunteers will participate in house outings including baseball games, hikes, camping. Time off for travel may be approved.

TERMINAL: Burlington, Vermont is easily accessible by bus or plane from Montreal, Boston or New York City.

SPECIAL REMARKS: Volunteers must be 24+, speak fluent English and have basic computer skills. Absolutely NO alcohol or drug use permitted during the stay.  VFP Motivation Form and email interview required. VFP does not provide insurance for volunteers on this project! Dismas offers emergency and liability insurance only. Only one international volunteer serves at any time.


2.
VFPPERM02-14 COMMUNITY REENTRY and SOCIAL JUSTICE, WINOOSKI PERMANENT SOCI/MANU AGE 21+  4 Vols    MALE ONLY Minimum 12 weeks; maximum 6 months

The Dismas House provides housing and opportunities to men and women getting out of prison so that they can successfully transition back into the community. http://www.dismasofvermont.org/

WORK:  Volunteers will be working as a Resident Advisor as well as on administrative tasks in small office. Volunteers are also expected to support the residential community by participating in group activities.

STUDY THEME: Criminal Justice

ACCOMMODATION: Shared room in a house, meals & laundry provided.

LOCATION: Winooski, Vermont. Winooski borders Burlington and has a population of ~8,000. There are colleges and universities nearby, the lake and mountains and much to do. Volunteers For Peace is located in Burlington and we welcome the volunteers in our office as well. Dismas has a house in Burlington and Rutland Vermont as well.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES: Recreation includes house activities and many festivals and events in area. Volunteers will participate in house outings including baseball games, hikes, camping. Time off for travel may be approved.

TERMINAL: Burlington, Vermont is easily accessible by bus or plane from Montreal, Boston or New York City.

SPECIAL REMARKS: Volunteers must be 21+, male, speak fluent English and have basic computer skills.  Absolutely NO alcohol or drug use permitted during the stay.  VFP Motivation Form and email interview required. 3.
VFPPERM03-14 COMMUNITY REENTRY, SOCIAL JUSTICE, RUTLAND PERMANENT SOCI/MANU, AGE 24+  4 Vols    Minimum 12 weeks; maximum 6 months

LOCATION: Rutland, Vermont. Rutland is a beautiful town in the Green Mountains with nearby lakes and streams (Pop. 17,500). Dismas also has a house in Burlington and Winooski Vermont.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES: Recreation includes house activities and many festivals and events in area. Volunteers will participate in house outings including baseball games, hikes, camping. Time off for travel may be approved.

TERMINAL: Rutland, Vermont is accessible by bus from New York City.

SPECIAL REMARKS: Volunteers must be 24+, speak fluent English and have basic computer skills.  Absolutely NO alcohol or drug use permitted during the stay.  VFP Motivation Form and email interview required. VFP does not provide insurance for volunteers on this project! Dismas offers emergency and liability insurance only. Only one international volunteer serves at any time.

 

4.
VFPPERM04-14 HOUSE BUILDING RESTORATION, NEW ORLEANS,  CONS/RENO, PERMANENT,  AGE 18+  30Vols Minimum 1 Month; Maximum 3 Months
LOWERNINE.ORG, NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA is a non-political, secular organization dedicated to helping this historic neighborhood recover and return to its former vibrant self. http://www.lowernine.org/

WORK:  Experienced carpenters, roofers, plumbers, painters and other tradesmen needed for rebuilding homes in the flood-damaged Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans. Unskilled volunteers will be trained by skilled staff.  All aspects of home rebuilding will be addressed, from roofing to finish carpentry.  5-day week of full work days. Medium-term volunteers provide free labor to neighborhood residents, so they can return home after Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Isaac. Work can be difficult and it is hot in New Orleans!

STUDY THEME: Carpentry, construction, community building.

ACCOMMODATION:  Housing is in dormitory style bunkrooms. No smoking in the house.  No drugs allowed. No alcohol allowed in the house or on the property. Vegetarian meals available.

LOCATION: New Orleans, LA, 2 miles east of the French Quarter.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES: Volunteers will have ample opportunity to partake of the abundant cultural offerings of the most unique city in America on weekends and after work hours.

TERMINAL:  Louis Armstrong International Airport; Amtrak and Bus station downtown.

SPECIAL REMARKS: VFP Motivation Form required. Volunteers must have intermediate spoken and comprehension of English in order to ensure workplace safety. VFP does not provide insurance for volunteers on this project, LowerNine general liability insurance will cover volunteers only while they are working. In case of a natural disaster volunteers will be required to make their own arrangements to evacuate the city. Multiple volunteers serve at all times in this location.

EXTRA FEE: $480 regardless of length of stay. Fee due in US Dollars upon arrival or online through lowernine.org's website.

VFPMTV01-14 SPECIAL NEEDS SUMMER CAMP, VERMONT  17-JUN to 10-AUG  DISA AGE 18+ 6 VOLS
CAMP THORPE, GOSHEN, VERMONT provides camping experiences for Vermont children and adults who have physical and mental challenges. Camp Thorpe has both a children’s camping program (Mountain Reach) and a camping program designed for adults (Pine Haven).

WORK: Work as a summer camp staff member and enjoy the activities and events that take place as you support our campers with a range of physical and developmental needs. You will help our campers as they benefit from a fun, safe residential camping experience. You will take part in all activities including swimming, sports, arts & crafts, music, dance and more! Job Rotations will include supervision and care of assigned campers during a six hour time block; supporting campers in Nature, Sports, Arts and Crafts, and Music activities, night events including a talent show, pirate night, campfire, and more.

STUDY THEME: Developmental disabilities and Education.

ACCOMMODATIONS: You will share a small cabin with three campers. All meals are provided. Vegetarian entrée’s available. Laundry facilities are provided.

LOCATION: Goshen Vermont is a rural community located in the heart of the Green Mountains.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES: In addition to daily summer camp activities, limited periods of time off provide an opportunity to enjoy Vermont cities and towns and the surrounding landscape.

SPECIAL REMARKS: Interest in working with children and adults who experience a range of physical and developmental needs. Volunteers must pass a background check with the sponsoring organization and may be subject to additional requests for information by Camp Thorpe. Volunteers will be expected to work a 10 hour rotation, which combines one or more of the activities listed under ‘work’ above. No smoking, alcohol/drugs. Volunteers must arrive by 17 June for the orientation and training and stay for the entire project. VFP Motivation Form and Phone interview required. VFP will provide medical insurance for volunteers serving on this project.

 

6.
VFPMTV02-14 WILDERNESS TRAIL BUILDING, VERMONT, 3-Jul to 13-Aug, CONS/ENVI, AGE 18+ 3 VOLS
GREEN MOUNTAIN CLUB, DANBY, VERMONT is for vols who are experienced at camping with no running water or electricity. Vols must be able to carry a 40 - 60 pound (18-27kg) backpack several miles (a few kilometers.)  Join international and local volunteer teams of 10 to build a piece of the Appalachian Trail, a wilderness footpath that runs through the mountains of the eastern U.S.  http://www.greenmountainclub.org/

WORK: Can include reconstructing a hiking path by building stone structures (stairs, walls) and by digging tread ways and drainage ditches or helping rebuild a trail shelter. You will get muddy! Learn trail building skills. Work safety is our highest priority. The MTV volunteers will also be responsible to help support new international volunteers as they join the two week sessions and to assist them in planning activities on the days off. Trail crews are on the mountain working Friday through Tuesday each week. Days off can be spent at base camp or volunteers can travel. Meals are not provided on days off.

STUDY THEME: Environmental issues, hiking, climate change.

ACCOMMODATION: Friday - Tuesday nights at a primitive campsite in the mountains. Wednesday and Thursdays are off and will be spent at a base camp. Tents are provided.

LOCATION: Danby is 2 hours east of Albany, New York in southern Vermont.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES: Explore Vermont swimming holes, historic villages, and forested mountains.

TERMINAL: Rutland, Vermont. There is one train a day from New York City to Rutland.

SPECIAL REMARKS:  Volunteers must arrive by 6PM on 3 July. Be prepared for a remote, outdoor experience! Bring hiking boots, backpack, sleeping bag (rated to 20 F/ -6 C) and sturdy work clothes. Work is physically demanding and is done outside in all weather. Technology free camp. This project has flexible start and end dates.

SPROUT, NEW YORK, NEW YORK  is dedicated to helping individuals with developmental disabilities and mental retardation to grow through challenging and safe travel experiences. http://www.gosprout.org/

WORK: Volunteers will co-lead small groups of adults with special needs on short vacations to various destinations. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, providing emotional and physical support, enhancing fun, budgeting, driving and activity planning 24 hours a day while on trips. Volunteers must be willing to assist with all Adult Daily Living skills (brushing teeth, separating dirty clothes, showering etc.). This is very challenging work, yet also very rewarding and fun. Experience working with this population is an asset but not required. Training will be provided. Between trips, some light office work or assistance is required.

STUDY THEME: Traveling with disability.

ACCOMMODATION: While on trips you will stay in hotels. In between trips, you will stay at a youth hostel. Volunteers will be responsible for their own meals, transportation and activities when not on a trip.

LOCATION: Manhattan, New York City & various destinations.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES: In between trips, you will have minimal time to explore NYC

SPECIAL REMARKS: Responsible, motivated vols age 21+ with driver’s license strongly preferred. Start dates are set for orientation but end dates can be flexible if required. VFP does not provide insurance for volunteers on this project. Sprout insurance only covers volunteers when they are on group trips. No alcohol during trips. Fluent English. VFP Motivation form and phone/Skype interview required.

Concordia, ELIX partner from UK, is in search for a long term volunteer to assist in Volcare, a small registered charity in South East Kent providing home based respite care to Carers of elderly and/or disabled dependents with special needs. Duration, January/February and June/July for 8-12 months. Good knowledge of English is necessary.

Work: Volunteers will help by: getting to know the Carer and cared for person and the daily routine and personal care needed by each individual family. Volunteers will then take over the Carer’s role for occasional periods of time ranging from one day up to one to two weeks. Companionship is a very important part of the role. Volcare help Carers caring for people with: Parkinsons Disease, Dementia, Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Head Injury, Learning Disability, Autism, and many more conditions.

 

Accommodation: Volunteers will either stay in a house where there are 4 volunteers or a flat where there are two volunteers and all facilities are provided. There is a telephone with incoming calls which accepts international cards and internet is also provided. Volcare will provide volunteers with a food, and pocket money allowance.

 

Location: The placements are in two locations in Kent. One is Dover and the other is Canterbury.

 

Terminal: Dover or London Airports

 

Special requirements: Excellent communication skills and an interest in people absolutely essential.

 

This will ideally suit someone wanting a career in Social work, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy etc. Volcare provides all of the support and training. This is a great opportunity for the right volunteer. Volunteers need to use public transport on a regular basis to visit families so volunteers will need to be able to use timetables and maps. All travel required for the project will be paid for. This project is only open to female volunteers.
