Η ΕΛΙΞ, εταίρος του προγράμματος της οργάνωσης UNA Exchange, αναζητά 2 εθελοντές για πρόγραμμα EVS στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο στην οργάνωση ProMo -Cymru διάρκειας έντεκα μηνών, από 01/09/2015 έως 31/08/2016.

τίτλος προγράμματος EVS: 2011-GB-53 ProMo-Cymru

ProMo-Cymru is a youth enterprise organisation specialising in the cultural industries with a history of supporting innovative and experimental creative projects. ProMo-Cymru's success has been based on clear consultation, working directly with young people in Wales and responding to their needs.

Promo is looking for 2 volunteer to help support and develop their work at their office based in the lovely Cardiff Bay working on different projects, including The Sprout, MEIC, Ebbw Vale Institute and the informed families project. Volunteers will be involved in different areas but focusing on social media, promotion, marketing and planning workshops.

Main tasks: The EVS project will in part be developed according to the interests and abilities of the volunteer but will broadly cover the following areas:
- To develop an exchange of experiences and ideas between the volunteer and the young people involved with ProMo Cymru.
- To support development of ProMo Cymru’s activities, it’s contact with the local communities and its nationwide profile.
- To promote a wider awareness of International/European issues amongst local people.
- To help bring a European dimension to ProMo Cymru’s activities.
- To provide media support on websites.
- To assist with workshops (video, photography, making pallet furniture, etc.).
- To assisting with residentials and young people’s training.
- General duties.

After spending one month or so discovering what the organisation does and where it’s different areas of work are, the volunteer will then be able to focus on one area and work closely with one or two particular staff members.

Required skills: ProMo Cymru is looking for volunteers with an interest in arts/media/digital communication/marketing and web design. It is vital that the volunteer be able and willing to work on his or her own initiative and use her own ideas for inclusion in the project. Experience of working with young people may be useful but is not our foremost criteria. Experience of promotions, marketing and events will also be considered an asset.

Practical conditions
The volunteers will live centrally in Cardiff with other EVS volunteers in a shared house. Each person will have their own bedroom and will share kitchen, bathroom and living room. An amount of approximately £275 will be paid once a month for food, pocket money and internet.

Things you should know
This project really demands a lot of initiative and self-motivation. You will need to have a background in this field in order to make the best use of the 11 months. As ProMo organises events and workshops, a lot of working time is during unsociable hours, i.e. weekends and evenings. This is especially true during the summer months. You would therefore be expected to work where necessary out of the normal 9 – 5 Monday to Friday routine. However as the working week is only 35 hours you would be able to take time off during the week.

Η ΕΛΙΞ σας προτείνει 6 διαφορετικά προγράμματα EVS στο Βέλγιο διάρκειας 12 μηνών που θα ξεκινήσουν τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2015.

Τα προγράμματα αυτά συντονίζονται από την Βελγική οργάνωση JAVVA και η ΕΛΙΞ είναι η οργάνωση αποστολής σας. Απαραίτητη για την συμμετοχή στα προγράμματα είναι η βασική γνώση της Γαλλικής γλώσσας.

Αιτήσεις μπορούν να γίνουν έως τις 9 Μαρτίου 2015.

Some projects involve direct contact with a disadvantaged public. This means that we ask volunteers to have a beginner/intermediate level of French in order to guarantee a smooth integration in these projects.

Due to the current asylum policy in Belgium, the number and the profile of the residents can be subject to changes beyond control of the centre and JAVVA. We are therefore looking for flexible volunteers with a good capacity for adaptation as the content of the project may differ from the description.

2013-BEFR-41
Centre for asylum seekers Fedasil in Rixensart (Brabant Wallon), 12 months, starting September 1st, 2015 (2 vols)

The reception centre is located at 25km from Brussels and can host up to 140 residents including about 20 unaccompanied minors. There are different kind of services which are offered to the residents, among which social support, medical service, reception, school support and leisure time activities.

TASKS: Volunteers will integrate the service of leisure activities, whose aims are, on the one side, to support children and teenagers in their schooling and, on the other, to organise leisure time activities, mainly in the social and cultural field, for the residents. Some activities in the neighbourhood are also carried out, whose aim is to raise awareness in the local community about asylum seekers. Volunteers will work with children and with adults. With children: volunteers will co-organise and co-lead after school activities, inside or outside the centre, workshops according to their abilities and to the needs of residents (games, DIY workshops, help with homework,...). With adults (and more specifically with women): volunteers will be asked to organise different kind of activities (from sports to social activities or cultural happenings) according to their interests and possibilities within the centre.

Facere – Daycare centre accommodating adults with cerebral palsy (Brussels) 6 or 12 months, starting September 1st, 2015 (1 vol)

Facere is a daycare centre for adults with cerebral palsy. The centre hosts about 30 people who need physical, psychological and social care. The institution is located at the edge of the Brussels Region in Anderlecht, next to the Erasmus Campus university hospital.

TASKS: The volunteer will integrate the team of workers that runs workshops related to gardening, cooking, computer science, art-deco, musicals , painting, world studies and inter-cultural exchanges, radio, the making of animated films, cyclo-dance, etc. as well as various athletic activities and cultural outings. He/she will also be able to suggest new types of activities and participate in their planning. It is important for the volunteer to be sincerely interested in an understanding of the difficulties associated with living with a handicap and capable of working in this sort of environment.

ACCOMODATION: in a shared flat in Brussels (volunteer may share a bedroom with another EVS volunteer).

Centre for asylum seekers Fedasil “Petit Chβteau” in Brussels, 12 months, starting September 1st, 2015 (1 vol)

Petit Chβteau is a reception centre located in Brussels, along the canal. It can host up to 830 asylum seekers, which makes it the largest open centre of Belgium. Residents sleep in dorms (if they’ve arrived alone) or in private apartments (if they’ve arrived with their family). Most of them are single men, but there are women, families and even minors without their parents. Their nationality is very diverse, coming from all over the world. Petit Chβteau employs about 100 staff members, both French as Dutch speaking.

TASKS: While part of the Buro Bizzi team, the volunteer will have a particular task at Petit Chβteau. He/she will bring those little extras the professional staff isn't able to bring. The volunteer can organise new activities or continue already existing activities. Possible tasks at the Buro Bizzi:
- organising activities for adults and minors
- sport activities for adults (mainly soccer, volleyball, table tennis, fitness)
- other trainings: sewing, dancing, painting, language lessons
- IT: helping out with starting up computers, helping to find information about the country of origin
- daily life orientation: how to take a bus, how to read a map,...

L'Enfance de l'Art – Nursery & kindergarten (near Tournai), 12 months, starting end of August, 2015 (4 vols)

"L’Enfance de l'Art" is a non profit organisation whose aim is to help parents to become more involved in their children's education. To that purpose, the organisation set up hosting facilities for children or people with reduced autonomy, leisure workshops, nurseries, schools. The organisation uses alternative pedagogies (Steiner & Loczy).

TASKS: One volunteer will work in a nursery (0-3 years) and three others will be in a kindergarten (3- 6 years). With the support of the educators, volunteers will carry out different kind of activities with the children: painting, drawing, fairy tales and nursery rhymes (volunteers can share some in their own language), making cakes and breads, outdoor games, crafts, walks in woods,...
It is important for the volunteer to be sincerely willing to work with children under 7 years, and have related qualities: be smiling, gentle, helpful, attentive, responsible, creative and loving, loving crafts,...

ACCOMMODATION: in a collective housing or in a host family near or in Tournai.

Altιrez-Vous - Responsible Cafι in Louvain-la-Neuve (Brabant Wallon), 12 months starting September 1st, 2015 (1 vol)

This alternative cafι is a non-profit cooperative with social purpose. The project of turns around 3 dimensions:
- Friendly atmosphere: open to any kind of public, organisation of diverse entertainment activities (board game nights, concerts, free stages, knitting workshops, conversation groups, writing workshops,...). Altιrez-Vous is a place to meet, share and interact with others. These activities are open to everyone and new ideas are always welcome.
- Responsible consumption: the cafι gives priority to local, seasonal, organic and fair products.
- Awareness to societal issues (the main objective of Altιrez-Vous): organisation of debates, conferences, group discussions, meetings with local farmers, awareness events,...
Some of TASKS for the volunteer:
- to help with the organisation and the promotion of cultural activities (thematic nights, concerts, exhibitions, intercultural activities,...)
- Awareness to societal issues directly with the clients and through the organisation of conferences,...
- Development of local, organic and fair trade by helping the staff to find new products
Volunteers will also have the opportunity to develop a personal project related to the cafι's values.
ACCOMMODATION: in a host family in Louvain-la-Neuve.

Caritas "Logis de Louvranges" for asylum seekers for women and children (Brabant Wallon), 12 months, starting September 1st, 2015 (2 vols)

The project in Louvranges consists of hosting female asylum seekers, single or with children in 22 apartments. The team assists the residents in the legal, social and medical field. The goal is to give the mothers a maximum of autonomy starting from their own capacity in order to be ready to leave the Logis and start an independent life.

TASKS: Volunteers will be working with the service of leisure activities to carry out activities for the children and the women of the centre. Their main tasks will be:
- to help with the organisation of the daycare within the centre and to suggest activities for children (0-3 years old)
- to co-lead and to co-organise activities for children (creative and artistic workshops, sports activities,...)
- to develop a bicycle workshop (lessons, rules of the road,...)
- to co-organise workshops with families in order to improve communication and community harmony (cooking workshop or any other activities that volunteers want to organise).
Volunteers will also have the opportunity to develop a personal project linked to the centre's values if they want to.

ACCOMMODATION: the two volunteers will share a flat within the centre (and they will share the same bedroom)

Η ΕΛΙΞ σας προτείνει ένα πρόγραμμα EVS στην Ιταλία στην οργάνωση Legambiente διάρκειας εννέα μηνών, από 01/03/2015 έως 01/12/2015.

Η προθεσμία είναι ΑΜΕΣΗ – θα υπάρχει η σειρά προτεραιότητας.

Λίγα λόγια για το πρόγραμμα:
The project will involve for nine months a total of six volunteers and will take place in Tuscany in different places, even if the main activities will be developed in Florence. Volunteers will take part in different contexts: one is the office in Firenze and the main activities in the city (campaigns, events, managing Parco di Rusciano) and on the other hand the rural context of ANPIL (Parco della Querciola).

AIMS:
- to promote a sustainable lifestyle
- to support a cultural exchange between the volunteers
- to educate volunteers to be able to transmit eco-friendly lifestyle discovered during the EVS project

ACTIVITIES:
- will be related to environmental issues, rural development and active participation in the community at local, national and European level
- the organization and implementation of the main campaigns of Legambiente Toscana (i.e. Italia NO OGM, Piccola Grande Italia, FestAmbiente, Goletta Verde, Puliamo il Mondo, Festa dell'Albero)
- the involvement in environmental education at school: volunteers will help in the planning of educational paths for every schools in addition to take part in meetings with the classes
- the contribution in the activities of an urban park, Parco di Rusciano in Florence, helping in the conservation of green spaces and in the organization of didactic works and taking care of olive trees
- the participation into community gardens, environmental activities in the protected areas of Parco della Querciola (Sesto Fiorentino, Florence) and international workcamps in summer

Volunteers will be involved 7 hours per day in the activities; if necessary they will take part in weekend activities respecting rest days.

During first month volunteers will attend an Italian course in order to improve the language and to permit them to familiarize with local culture.

Volunteers will also have the possibility to develop their own project and their new ideas in order to improve their skills and competencies.

Their ability in management and leadership will be strengthened through the participation in decision-making processes.

- not having participated in another long term EVS project

Η προθεσμία είναι ΑΜΕΣΗ – θα υπάρχει η σειρά προτεραιότητας.

Λίγα λόγια για το πρόγραμμα:
The volunteer is going to support our association's activities and volunteer in our office as an employee with equal rights. He or she is given the opportunity to initiate activities according to his/her own cultural background, to co-organize events and to put his/her own ideas and projects into practice.

We are very interested in cooperating with young people who have knowledge and some experience in:
- Fundraisining and networking - very good knowledge of English language is necessary
- Project Management: planning, designing, organizing and implementing projects
- Communications and PR - using social media such as facebook, twitter etc., creating blogs, posting information about the association's events in forums, e-magazines, sending newsletters, updating the association's website (fluent in English and/or German)
- Facilitating international training courses, seminars and meetings

H ΕΛΙΞ σε συνεργασία με την μη κυβερνητική οργάνωση Etudes et Chantiers της Γαλλίας σας προτείνει 3 προγράμματα EVS μικρής και μεσαίαςδιάρκειας αυτό το καλοκαίρι που θα πραγματοποιηθούν στην Γαλλία. Τα προγράμματα αφορούν νέους ηλικίας 18 με 30 χρονών.

1. από 30/06 έως 01/08/2015 (to be specified), στο Saint Calais du Désert, Mayenne, Pays de La Loire
The overall objective is to galvanize the town of “Saint Calais du Désert” and to create social links between volunteers and inhabitants.

The team of volunteers will take part to several kind of activities:

a. Implementation of a local festival: board games, donkeys riding, cinema, sketch, folkball, batucada, refreshment area, barbecue… 

b. Heritage actions: Discovery of local natural heritage. Maintenance of hiking paths made by others teams of volunteers in the past 6 years during international workcamps.

2. από 01/07 έως 30/09/2015 (3 μήνες), στην Region of Brittany
Our organization aims to raise people awareness about our heritage which also vehicles social connections. Built heritage is a great medium to share and federate people on the history of a territory and its people. Heritage also reflects the cultural diversity of our European communities. The main goal of this conservation project is to make the ‘heritage’ topic more accessible to young people in order to develop the participation of everyone to its conservation.

The team of volunteers will take part to several kind of activities:
a. Technical activities: Conservation work of built heritage on different supports and using different techniques.
The activities will be supervised by the technical leaders of the organization.
b. Educational activities: Raising awareness on built heritage conservation and local heritage (with schools, local population, visitors …), link with the local actors. Enhancement of European culture and exchanges.

3. από 01/06 έως 30/09/2015 (4 μήνες) στο Paimpont - Brittany
To help the creation of the center of scientific culture in rural areas of the Châtenay Mill by the implementation of volunteers' European team for the environment.

The team will aim to:
a. Assist in the development, preservation and maintenance of spaces in the area of the Châtenay Mill and around the Châtenay pond.
- Participate to the creation of new facilities around the Châteany pound, such as a wooden bridge.
b.Promote environmental actions on the territory (in particular developing biodiversity measurement with participatory sciences protocols).
c. Develop relationship between the territory and its inhabitants, in order to open the Biological Station to more visitors.

Volunteer's profile:
- Interested in the various topics of the project: heritage conservation, environment, European citizenship, social inclusion
- Willingness to live and work as part of a European voluntary team (it’s few months project, that means the volunteer is an integrated part of the group, she/he will have to take part in all the collective tasks (cooking, cleaning, etc)).
- Interest in intercultural experiences, curiosity
- Willingness to develop links with the local population, to meet new people…
- Willingness to work and live both in urban and rural areas
- Willingness to discover the culture and the French language
- Very important :
- EVS is not cheap holidays but volunteering

- Physical ability and interest to do outside work
- The volunteer has to know that she/he will sleep in tent during half of the project and Brittany where it is not always sunny, even in summer.

The applicant should have understanding of voluntary world, preferably personal experience as a participant / camp leader etc.

He/she should have sufficient command of English, at least some work experience and be able to work independently as well as a member of team.

Tasks for EVS-volunteer

- taking part in various assisting tasks related to international youth mobility programs
- working as a member in the team of Allianssi Youth Exchanges
- assisting in project of validation of non-formal learning in volunteering
- assisting  with work camps in Finland
- planning and implementation, being a camp leader in summer
- helping/organizing the leaders’ training and evaluation
- organizing information events, promoting volunteering possibilities such as EVS
- writing a blog in Allianssi website, updating the Facebook page
- cooperating with other youth organisations in Allianssi House
- organizing events to local volunteers

The volunteer will be accommodated in a shared apartment or a host family in Helsinki area.

Η ΕΛΙΞ σας προτείνει ένα πρόγραμμα EVS στην Γερμανία (2 θέσεις) κοντά στο Βερολίνο, για την περίοδο αρχές Σεπτεμβρίου 2015 έως τέλη Αυγούστου 2016 (12 μήνες). Η προθεσμία για τις αιτήσεις είναι 7 Ιανουαρίου 2015!

Για να εξεταστεί η αίτησή σας από την οργάνωση πρέπει να αποστείλετε το βιογραφικό σας, το Motivation Letter και την φόρμα EVS της ΕΛΙΞ στα αγγλικά στο Αυτή η διεύθυνση ηλεκτρονικού ταχυδρομείου προστατεύεται από τους αυτοματισμούς αποστολέων ανεπιθύμητων μηνυμάτων. Really important criteria are:
1) The project is indeed in a very remote forest area on a lake. You will need 1,5 hours by public transport to Berlin and the volunteers won`t be able to visit Berlin more often than 1 or 2 times a month! Busses do not go regularly and there are no shopping or other facilities directly close by. So they need to be very fond of nature, not interested in living in a big city and must enjoy being on their own especially in winter time. In the summer, it is quite busy, but in winter it can be quite lonely and maybe boring (they do not have TV and currently only very limited internet access). But there are always two volunteers. In the past, there has been different experiences. Some volunteers might think it is too isolated and hoped to enjoy "nearby" Berlin regularly and therefore were disappointed. Others really loved it (one even stayed there and was hired at the project, and last years volunteer comes to visit about every two months!). So the potential volunteer must love nature and quiet places and can entertain him- or herself, especially in winter.

2) At least some knowledge of the German language is essential (the more the better!)!

3) Besides knowledge of English as well as being creative and having experience or at least interest in working with children can be of advantage.

Η ΕΛΙΞ σας προτείνει 4 διαφορετικά πρόγραμμα EVS στην Πολωνία διάρκειας 10 μηνών που θα ξεκινήσουν τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2015.

Τα προγράμματα αυτά συντονίζονται από την Πολωνική οργάνωση Robert Schuman Foundation και η ΕΛΙΞ είναι η οργάνωση αποστολής σας.

Αιτήσεις μπορούν να γίνουν έως τις 6 Ιανουαρίου 2015.

The Polish Robert Schuman Foundation is looking for volunteers, who would like to join our Erasmus + EVS project in 2015, which is focused on social care and the special education of children. Currently we are looking for volunteers for the following receiving organizations:

1. Special Kindergarten No 245 for Visually Impaired Children in Warsaw (EI Reference Number: 2012-PL-51) 2 volunteers / 10 months (starting date: September 2015)

Volunteers work in group and, should the need arise, also directly with a blind child and assist the child during its stay in the kindergarten. They teach the children to use the equipment available on the premises, assist during the teacher-managed group classes, additional activities, help with typical self-care activities, such as personal hygiene, help at eating and dressing. Volunteers are welcome to propose their own activities and can count on teachers to support them.

Considering the described activities in which the volunteers would be executing or participating in we believe that they would have the possibility to develop their pedagogical skills in the area of working with children with special needs, as well as participating in various workshops and trainings organised by and/or in the kindergarten. We are also aware of the fact that working with visually impaired or blind children is very demanding and that volunteers would need specific guidelines and training to prepare them and help them with their work. Verbal communication between the volunteers and the children is very important, especially that our children due to their visual impairment cannot rely on non-verbal communication so much. It is for this reason as well that we would put special attention on the knowledge of Polish language of the volunteers. Polish language course would be provided with the mentioned goal as well as the aim to make the interaction and communication between the volunteers and the kindergarten staff easier.

2. Special Kindergarten No 213 in Warsaw (PIC number: 945041610), 3 volunteers / 10 months (starting date: September 2015).

Volunteers help in the group of autistic children between 6-10 years old in their everyday activities. Since children are usually more self-sufficient there are group activities, games and individual therapy.

Volunteers learn a lot about different kinds of disabilities and the way to work with such children. Such environment offers an opportunity to overcome your own boundaries, break stereotypes and to seek for ways of spreading awareness about mentally disabled outside the kindergarten

3. Special Kindergarten No 393 in Warsaw (PIC number: 944083541), 3 volunteers/ 10 months (starting date: September 2015).

Volunteers participate in the classes and help the staff. They help changing children’s clothes, feeding the children or help them eat their meals, go to the toilet. There is a special kindergarten plan which educators must follow but there is also some space for their own creativity (proposing theatre instead of reading to children for example or exercising their artistic talent preparing materials and scenery for kindergarten plays and seasonal ornaments etc.)

Volunteers can also suggest educational group activities and/or individual work process for one child, all under supervision of an educator. Volunteers are also involved in preparations of festivities for the occasion of traditional Polish holidays.

Volunteers can learn a lot about different methods of working with children with various disabilities. They have a chance to see therapeutic meetings, learn about adapted computer programs and didactic tools.

4. The Society for Care over the Blind in Laski – near Warsaw (EI Reference Number: 2013-PL-196), 2 volunteers / 10 months (starting date: September 2015).

Mainly the volunteers work focuses on a flat-community (female or male dormitory) and helping the pupils with their daily activities, such as getting ready for school, encourage them to take part in extra-curricular activities (e.g. swimming, musical, artistic and sport activities). Additionally, for interested in that fill, there is a possibility to assist in school, to help out with language opportunities and homeworks. Volunteers in Laski get a close experience of every day life of blind youth. They have a chance to learn all about how to assist a blind person, using the cane, Braille alphabet, different methods and activities useful for tactile improvement, special orientation and so on. 

Providing language learning opportunities for the pupils, they also have a chance to gain a new perspective of their mother tongue.

Γενικά
We are looking for volunteers aged between 18 and 30 years, legally residing in one of the Program or Partner Countries Neighboring the EU. We seek a balance of varied ages, genders and nationalities amongst our EVS volunteers. We are not looking for experienced volunteers but those that would learn a lot during the service. Apart from personal motivation of volunteers our requirement is volunteers' strong will of learning Polish language after selection procedure successfully ends.

We need selected volunteers to know a few crucial phrases and already have substantial vocabulary of Polish at the moment they start their EVS. Why is this important? Because they will work with disabled children and youth, which often does not speak English or any other language.
We will pay special attention to those candidates, who are keen on any creative forms of special education (manual, artistic, musical, etc.), which are appreciated by kids, teachers and the Foundation as well.
